So our story begins with 2 riders heading to the track to ride one cold Oct. evening. After a 3 hour drive we find a hotel for the night and catch some ZZZZzzzz’s. After a day of riding for Kevin, we are cold and hungry and that is where our dynamic duo has agreed to meet a covert operative at an undisclosed eatery for some I group point and shoot riding technique information.

We leave the track and start the GPS to find the local Red Lobster. Kevin hates seafood but since Chris likes it, he reluctantly agrees since I was his pit support the entire weekend. We leave the track early as well as Kevin skipped his last session, so we are running about .5 hour ahead of Josh. We arrive at the Red Lobster and get seated right away, straight up VIP. Soon after, Chris has a long island in hand and the phone rings…… It says “unknown caller” but I know it is Josh. He is needing the address of our location so he can meet us ASAP. While Chris is on the phone with Josh, Kevin asks the waitress the address of the location. She doesn’t know and tell him she will send the manager over lol. Meanwhile, he looks up the address up on his phone. Then it hits Chris… we are spies, we got this. And so the shenanigans begin , this time instigated by Kevin.

Kevin introduces himself to the manager as a Dept. of Homeland Security officer. He tells the manager we need the address to the location to relay to an operative for a meeting about their credit card security. The manager is totally freaked out about this info and raises an eyebrow about the whole thing and walks away telling us she will return in a few minutes. After a few minutes, the manager returns with the address and a few questions… she asks to see our paperwork. Of course Chris picked up on Kevin’s plan and we are ready. We downloaded images of a Homeland Security Badge on our phones.

We show the badges via our phones and Chris says, “the badges are digital now due to budget cuts.” Lol…. It works for the manager but the waitress smells something fishy that is not in the kitchen of a Red Lobster. Hahahahahahah After a few more long islands and Kevin’s few beers, Josh arrives and rolls right into the scheme without even knowing the plan ahead of time. The manager has escorted him to the table and says “enjoy the meeting” and gets him a beer and takes his order.

At this point we can barely contain the laughter, and the smiles are too much to bare after we ask to be taken to the office to see the credit card processing machine. The waitress calls our bluff and the gig is up. We let the manager off the hook as well and everyone has a good laugh. I even heard a few chuckles from the table next to us.

All in all, it was a great dinner that included others in the fun as well. We shook the hand of the manager and she said come back anytime for dinner and more fun.

Till next time…. STAY FROSTY!
