They use that grating on all the small bridges between PA and NJ that i've been on.
Not a fan but you get used to it.
More on topic i once followed a women into a Quick Check parking lot to let her know she had 0 working brake lights... She said she wondered why i almost rear ended her when she braked for a deer... And no, i was close but not that close. LOL
