I would forego painting just for the sake of painting....until such a time as carb work becomes necessary. I did these within the refurb process.
At that point, total strip down is mandatory (an actual refurb brings you there anyways), careful prep, masking and the use of common hi-temp engine paint is all that's needed.
Though they look unique.....its not rocket science, Would encourage you to DIY.
