Aggressive carb circuit clearing methods coupled with automatic replacement of all consumables would be strongly advised. Sounds like some attention to the carb enrichener (aka starting circuit) and float circuits were not dealt with. Pilot screw orings replaced? Air correction circuits confirmed clear? I'd guess not.
How clean the carbs look is not necessarily the 100% indicator....its what you *can't* see that'll get ya every time.
