Pics of 250 cylinders out of the block
Hi Guys, does anyone have any pics of an 08-12 250R cylinder block with the liners removed ? Just looking to see how the liners are sealed in the block.
Thanks |

How about this? ZZR600 and Ninja 250 liners. Seal is with O-rings. If you're boring for larger liners, just use press-fit and anaerobic sealant on assembly. I also like liner-flange to be 0,05mm above deck for extra clamping, although not really needed on un-boosted applications.

Thanks Danny, the 600/250 pic is one of mine. I found that post from Bruce, but the pic had timed out. So the new gen liner is as I recalled with the O-ring in the cylinder, what I really want to know is what is the OD inside that O-ring groove ?
The block pic is a pre-gen one as no cam chain tensioner boss. The pre-gen did not bother with an upper O-ring, because the head gasket forms that seal. Not sure why they added the upper one to new-gen. Either way I have a spare set of 600 liners that can be fitted & bored to 66 or 67mm for a 335 or 345cc big bore. Thanks |

OD of groove in new-gen liner? To determine liner thickness there?
I do have pre-gen block I can open up for you. Will have to be after this weekend when I'm back from holiday. |

That upper O-ring groove reduces the liner thickness, so I’ll get them pressed out of another block & replace with 600 liners. Thanks |

So the world went mad & many people got furlough & did their bike projects. Unfortunately I had Covid badly right at the start & then had to work right through. So everything got parked. So finally started on the ZZR 315 engine build & finally got the X300 cylinder bored & replated. Just arrived yesterday.
