Inderveer's late dad's pickup's makeover thread :)

Aight guys, so my dad passed away a couple of months ago and now I'm the one driving the truck everywhere now. In the past, I would drive it whenever I could because it's a flippin 5-speed. I just wanted it to myself lol, but now that he's gone, i regret wanting to think that. I drive it so much that if i ever come home in a different car, it feels as if he's home cuz the trucks parked and stuff. Oh snap, I'm getting off topic.

I just wanted to make a thread to keep track of all the changes and stuff. This truck was my dad's first new work truck, but treated it like his old trucks he got off auction. Join me as I attempt to restore this 2008 Colorado to my liking lolzz

Some truck driver reversed into the truck while parked. Messed up the fender, door, and broke the side mirror. Drove around without the mirror..flippin dangerous.

Now to the inside...BEFORE and AFTER

I don't know why he had a bunch of bells just sitting there.

Trying out the new Recaro seats!!

My feet were never gonna reach the pedals hahaha

Passenger side carpet after..some of the stuff is too stuck to vacuum out.

Driver side carpet before..

and driver side after..

shifter area before..

nd after..

spillage errywhere..

not anymore ))))

decided to get rid of the Recaro seat and went with Bride!

to be continued...

Good luck, looks like she needs a lot of work.
Kinda a tiny truck for a "work truck", definitely looks like she had a hard life.
Looks like you just need a whole new bed. How many miles?

You just put a hurt in my heart, Inderveer. I lost my father on July 20th 2011. God, has it really been almost 3 years... Stand strong man. My pops had a '71 bronco with a bored out 302 under the hood. Bitch was a beast and we built it together. After he passed, it was to be mine but my stepmom needed the money, so she sold it. Took me a long time to get over that one. It;s nice to see that you have something to hold on to. Treasure it and drive it like he would.

Sorry to hear about your father. Looks like you have a bit of a journey with that truck though, and it's good to see that you're putting energy into it. Nice job thus far. I look forward to seeing more.

He owned a pallet business, so he would stack his trucks up real high lol. Didn't care about weight ratings for nobody. This and his early 90's ranger were the smallest of his rides. It has about 40k on the clock in 5 years. He kept this one pretty local and business started getting real slow at that time, so I don't think it's that much. I might just keep the bed and paint that body armor stuff on.

:'). You might not have the bronco, but you have that memory and time spent with him and that is all that counts. We unfortunately needed the money too. It was really hard moving his stuff out of his yard and selling things like his forklift and hard earned dismantler . Thanks for sharing with me and everyone here; it means a lot.

Its actually looking decent in these photos. you can hardly see the rust that has started and you can not see some of the dents that are smaller. the white washes them out.

Got it 5 years ago to turn it into a low rider(v6 2wd)
rims , lowering shackles tinted it, rear roll pan. When I got it it 3small dents in the driver side door, fender and hood. The front bumper was messed up

Then after few months I dozed off at the wheel and avoided running over a honda civic hatch back by squeezing onto the median and running the passenger side of my truck up against a pole. A few weeks later when I was getting the repairs quoted people crashed into each other in front of me. I slammed on my breaks and avoided hitting them but I got rearened sequentially by two SUVs and forced into a 6 car pile up.
I decided It might not be worth it to pay for repairs so I started sourcing parts to fix it myself…… Then a saturn drove into my driver's side door.

I gave up- I have put 80k miles on it and we are approaching 200k and I have hauled ~30tons of scrap one little load at a time
I have driven it NY-OK twice and NY-NC twice as well as canada NYC and all over.
It is the most reliable and un killable vehicle I have ever had.

But it is quickly approaching too expensive to repair limit.
As it sits - it needs body work, windshield, breaks, tires, windshield wiper delay, fan resistor, passenger door handle, ceiling liner

oh well - It still goes and towes
picking up a crashed zx6r tomorrow lol

Personalize it with something that your dad liked, maybe stickers of a baseball team he supported or someplace he liked to visit....

Good luck with the project!

Wow..that is not a good sequence of events! Glad you made it through all of that. That truck has been really loyal though!

My tire bulged!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the way to work it just felt like an alignment issue, but on the way back it got worse. It felt like a flat tire, but the tires were fine! My face was like the jackie chan wtf meme the whole time lol. Jacked it up from the front center to check both tires and then found the bulge........

Here's the tire standing on its own!

Yea that's a first for me too! The roads and highways here are pretty bad in random spots, so idk what could have triggered it. :idk:

Classic busted belt rite der! Had many tires look like that when I was a younger lad. Super glad we don't get these on bikes very often.
