Save my boys!

Alright, so this thread might sound a little ridiculous, but I need some advice lol. I've only taken the Ninjette on shorter rides until yesterday, when we went on a 100 mile trip of all back roads. A little ways in to it I started to get fairly uncomfortable in the most sensitive of areas It seems like the seating position is putting the pressure from my weight, too far forward, and not on my butt. I tried sitting up, tucking, laying on the tank all the way over, scooting back, nothing worked. It seemed like no matter what, I would get a lot of pressure in the "taintal" area

Is this how all sport bikes ride and I just need to deal with it? Or is there a way to fix this, like I'm doing it wrong and need to stop QQ'ing and l2Ride. New gel seat maybe?

Help my boys lol.

Now you see why many people ride cruisers.

To some extent it is just how sport bikes are because of the angles they have the seating postures in. As for doing it wrong/right, I can't really say since it sounds like you tried several different things and nothing worked along with me not seeing what you're doing or having major knowledge of sport bike seating. You can try other seats or making padding adjustments to the current one, but there is no guarantee they will do all that much to help.

Most of it just has to do with how sport bikes have you leaning forward that moves the contact/pressure area forward onto your more sensitive parts. The overall seating posture of a sport bike is the reason I don't like them. I don't like that forward lean because I don't find any part of it comfortable in the least. It puts too much pressure in all the wrong parts that increases strain and decreases the comfort which also decreases the fun. At least for me that's how it is.

I figured it was just kinda how it was going to be. I guess I just didn't really notice as must until this extended ride after I got my rear sets and clip ons. I'm going to have to get a gel seat, or engineer this seat better. Of course the guy leading the group was on a giant couch on wheels and was having no problems :P

lol...I only have an issue when I'm wearing jeans that are on the tighter side, but I know what you mean, I've banged mine hard a couple of times and wondered if I had just castrated myself lol. Seat far back in the seat, that's how I roll and if you're uncomfortable mid-ride, just stand on the pegs and relocate your boys
If nothing else, and nothing helps, be proud of your apparently huge nutz

Use your knees more on the tank to keep yourself from sliding forward as much.

Don't upgrade to a Ducati 848/1098. They are the biggest ballbusters you will ever encounter.

I had the same problem when I started, but I've found that if you follow the above it makes a huge difference. Standing on the pegs just a little gives you much needed relief, and by sitting back a little and keeping your knees against the tank will be much more comfortable. Just keep in mind that if you ride sitting back, if say you are riding with someone else and come to a stop and they slide you forward...it hurts

Really? I love the look and sound of the 848Evo. I drool over it every time I see one. I keep telling myself that one day I will own either an 848 or 1098. Probably an 848, since the 1098 is too much and the 1198 is total overkill.

Edit: Just read this on another forum in a sig, felt it kind of applied here:

You should use your knees to grip the tank so you can keep your butt on the flatter part of your seat near the back. Some grippy stuff on the sides of the tank might also help.

If that doesn't help, you might be able to take the cover off your seat, and reshape the foam a little bit and then re-attach the cover. (or add some foam maybe? dunno)

Last resort would be a Corbin seat. People seem to really like those.

The corbin seat is flatter than the stock seat, so yes I relieves the pressure on the boys, but you sit more upright. I've been considering a touring windscreen now because I sit higher, but long distance riding has become a lot easier.

You could always look into underarmor briefs or some sort of motorcycle underwear. That might alleviate some of the discomfort. Comfortable underwear can do a lot for a man on a motorcycle.

or you could learn how to do this, she seems pretty comfy

Concur with using your knees, sitting back, moving around, changing postion, and modifying your seat. One other thing you could try that I have found helpful on long rides is to wear cycling shorts or cycling underwear under my pants. They offer much more padding in the sensitive area.

Not really, I mean, I shift around on the seat a lot on long trips though. My butt gets tired of sitting, but that happens any time I sit too long.

A ninjette problem to be sure. Recommendations: Stomp Grip tank pads give you better knee grip to sit back farther. Also helps in cornering to have more weight at the back. Also, I've been dying to get a Corbin seat for just this reason.

Stompgrip Traction Pads. Motorcycle Superstore, among others carry them precut for the ninjette. Only downside is $50 price tag, but my nuts are worth it.

I've got pretty large "boys" and I can honestly say it has never been an issue.

As stated by several people, sit back and grip the tank with your knees.

Stompgrips or Tech Spec pads will help with griping the tank. I sent my seat off today to Frank Turnier of Spencers Moto Care to have my seat modded. Excellent input from Frank and how to correct some pressure and sliding forward issues with the stock seat. His work comes recommended from several other forums.

Worst part now is being unable to ride the bike until seat returns.
