Track Day with the Ninja
Here's a video of my buddy and I during our first track day with the Ninja. Track is Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA. The video was taken during our second session. As you can see, our lines, brake, and shift points are off. We got a little better towards the end of the day but definitely need more track time in order to get faster. Enjoy...

bad ass! did you guys have a ton of fun?
Now, check the other thread on here for trackdays and stuff like that. If you're really into it you should consider racing CVMA with us eventually! Its really no more/less expensive than doing trackdays but there's plastic trophies! WAIT... is the ninja with the gsxr front end blong's (Brian) old bike from san diego with the chopped rear frame and RS125 tail? |

Right, that naked bike was previously owned by Brian.
Looks like you already saw my post in the other thread. I think you'll have a couple of my buddies coming out to CVMA this coming season. We usually take our minigp's out to Kart tracks for practice sessions. We've taken the Ninja's out there a few times and it does ok. As you mentioned in the other thread, it an SV can do it so can the Ninja. I'll post a separate thread to see if anyone wants to join us at Apex. We plan to get out there this Saturday. I'll bring my Ninja if anyone else cares to join in. |

Great vid, Neil!
For us, sucks you're moving to Texas. Was hoping to dice it up with you @ CVMA.

Thanks Nem. Yeah, it's a bummer for me too (leaving Socal) for various reasons...one of which is the great tracks around us and the opportunity to dice it up with you and the rest of the crew. But I couldn't pass up a job opportunity.
Are you able to come out to Apex this Saturday? |

Riverside? I don't have a mini bike or motard. And I've never ridden that track. Ninja 250 sounds like it's too big for that track.

It's in Perris. I have a separate thread for it here http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...highlight=apex
We've ridden the Ninja's out there a few times and it does fine. Only able to get up to third gear in the straights but the turns, as you know, is where all the fun is |

Its definitely not too small for the ninja. Last time I was there, I was dragging knee everywhere, spinning up the rear wheel and having so much fun! Just think of it as a big track without any straightaways hahah

Glad this was mentioned. Everyone has a different take on things so I didn't want to set any expectations by giving my biased opinion.

Welcome to the board Derek, although I'm a newb here myself.
You'll meet all the CVMA racers here, scout the enemy Lot's of good info for mods and there's plenty of helpful folks to field questions. You think your Ninja will be ready by Saturday? |

tires aren't in yet. I not sure is the stock 17" tires are better then the upgraded 16" tires.

@ Kevin, yes we had a blast.
@ Derek, we missed you at Apex this past Saturday. From what I've read, the 17" wheels do help. Maybe you can post a query in this forum. I haven't done a search but it may have been covered already. May be worth checking. |
