Exhaust pipe adapters/spacers/reducers?
So correct me if I'm wrong, but the outside diameter of the pregen header is 1-1/4". I'm looking at getting some shorty mufflers for mine, but the smallest diameters I can find are 1-1/2".
Auto parts stores are full of adapters, but nothing small enough to fit the 1-1/4" range. Anyone know where I can get adapters to make this work? |

A piece of 1-1/4" ID x 1-1/2" OD aluminum tubing should work. Split it with a hacksaw so when you tighten the muffler clamp it squeezes the aluminum tube down to the 1-1/4" tube. Steel or stainless steel would work fine too, but they're a bit harder to cut and work with.
If you can't find it locally, McMaster-Carr should have it. You can take a look at their part number 9056K38. Other suppliers like Speedy Metals could probably sell you a piece too. |

So something like this?
http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant...946&top_cat=60 It's a 1.26" ID, which is pretty darn close. A one-foot section would cost $32 |

That would probably work OK, but I don't know why you want to spend more than the McMaster piece costs.

I'm also thinking about chopping the pipe right where the stock muffler finishes tapering off and mounting the shorties there. The OD at that point is around 1-3/8", but I think the mufflers would look good there. Only probably would be I wouldn't be able to resell the stock mufflers, since chopping it would ruin it mostly. Not quite sure what I'm going to do yet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |
