Exclamation Is it possible for spiders to nest inside a motorcycle?

Everyday I go out to bike in the morning, my bike has spider webs on it. Like spider webs on the handle bars, around the front wheel, etc.. Is it possible that spiders have nested in the bike like inside the fairings or something or is because my bike is parked outside?

I'm going to say yes. @gfloyd2002 has a great post on these boards about spiders in his boot. And by great I mean completely creepy.

I've always found spiders and other types of bugs in my battery box. I'm always careful to check for them when I remove my battery for winter storage.

Mice, birds, snakes, wasps/other insects and basically anything that will wiggle it's way into the fairings/airbox can build a home there.

And I still have the creeps from that boot spider thread.

Enjoy the company! lol

If I do find them in my bike how should I go about getting rid of them? Raid? A hose? Any ideas?

Depending on size and type or how nice i'm feeling, I may squish them, or pick them up and put them elsewhere.

If you're just scared, then just used some pesticide.

Didn't know I had a red wasp nest in one of my fairings until two wasp came out from around my dash while riding. They tried hanging on for dear life, but the wind took them out. There are videos on youtube of snakes coming out of dash while person is riding

I've cleaned more than 1 mouse nest out of the airbox of my various dirtbikes over the years when i am getting them ready after winter. Found one just the other week when prepping the KLX for riding. It was barn stored all winter so i wasn't surprised to find it in there and was somewhat expecting it.

Those things may work, but the sure way is to remove their food source.

They normally web where insects are more likely, which are close to light bulbs and in air drafts.

Maybe relocating the place at which you park at night could help

My garage is filled with spiders and I park right outside on the driveway.

See?

There is over-population and competition for food has moved these outside and your bike is a relatively safe place (from wind and rain).

You can kill these ones, but more will migrate from the source.

I would find out what makes the garage so appealing to insects (food for spiders) and to spiders (they are not insects, by the way).

Sustained vibrations really bother them.

"Arachnids are mostly carnivorous, feeding on the pre-digested bodies of insects and other small animals.
Web-building spiders have poor vision, but are extremely sensitive to vibrations."

If that's the case, should I start praying to our spider overlords? I've "heard" that a stock 250r could only reach up to ~105 mph.

Seems like a good enough reason to install a turbo
