going to rock the N250 for a while longer

I tried to switch up to a VFR800, but in the end, although I can afford it no problem, I'm just not going to get $14K of weekend enjoyment out of it. There's no way to beat my used '06 Ninja 250 for fun per dollar, or fun per future maintenance-hours, that only has 8K miles now.

Another problem is, I just personally finished refreshing the bike from one end to the other, new tires, new front brake pads, new coolant, new oil and filter, new battery, new spark plugs. Cleaned the oil screen and air filter. Fixed up the hack job from the CA emissions equipment removal by prior owner. Did the valve adjustment. Replaced one lower missing fairing bolt, and one side grommet. Affixed the grip to stop twisting around the throttle tube. So I'm freshly educated about the bike, don't want to change bikes so soon either after just 16 months, while the bike is in tip-top shape.

Also, the bike revs 1st 2nd 3rd without breaking 75 mph ... all the other bikes are like 60+ in just 1st gear. What fun is that, you can't bounce through the gears without big time speeding.

Anyway, there are a couple of light dents (not heavily creased) in the otherwise fine gas tank, by a previous owner. Can those be warmed up and pressed out safely by a dent specialist? ie, the Kawasaki paint won't fall off after dent repair, and will they handle an empty bike gas tank? I'm running out of things to do on the bike, except ride it. Maybe a tail bag, flush brake fluid, dissect carbs for fun ...

Ok-

Get a grip buddy. If the bike is in sweet shape. Ride it.

if you need something else to work on.... CL has a muriad of neglected bikes that you could easily apply many hours of repair and diagnosis to. All for pennies on the dollar of what a nice dealership stealership bike will cost.

I agree, buy an older dirt bike and you'll have plenty of wrench time. Then when it's running good, you can get a big adrenaline fix at low speeds while you become a better rider.

You can easily remove most dents from your gas tank with a $20 dent removal kit from Auto Zone. The kit includes a hot glue gun and dent puller which will not damage your paint and will make the tank look much better. Congrats at keeping an older bike and riding the wheels off of it. All of my bikes are 10 years old or older *the 2012 ninja is now totally my wifes* and I love all 3 of them!

When i'm older I'd love to have 2 street bikes, a small bike like my 300 and a big bike like a zx10r,etc. And maybe a dirt bike or 2, not sure.

Add bikes, don't replace

I need to get a ride on a VFR800 - its been one of the bikes that I have contemplated getting for some time - even thought about trading the 6R in for one.
