Smile my splendid adventure with mx dirtbike handlebars on my ninja

bot some bars and clamps. replacing clipons.
my plan was to use one of the existing handle bars bolt holes

as u can see the fork tube raised up and in the way. but the mount will hav to be shaved on the side

forks will hav to be dropped back down obviosuly to clear bars

thats all i hav right now. il finish it 2moro. i hav to tap the other side. if i dont like it this way. il take off the top tripple n drill the top surface part to use.

Alright, now I certainly would not want to disuede you from doing your mods to that 250, but the question in my mind about the bars is Why?

Comfort, feel and farkles are a few of reasons to do this. You making a street fighter out of your $200 bike?

Same reason people get bar risers.

I see you bought a key for your 250 off ebay. I'm glad to see it worked as I ordered mine and didn't realize they had not listed our pregens on the auction when I bought them.

Rabies is there anything you won't mod on your bike? You've taken a saw to that thing (literally and figuratively) in what feels like 2 weeks. .

Cool! Sorry for the mix up on who owned what bike in what thread. I blame the liquor. hahahahahah

Can't wait to see the finished bike. In ky we call em frankenmobiles when you put parts on a bike/car that comes from another.

last night took forever to finish. it paid off. its very very very worth it. theres alot more control and less wobble. and my back is ok with it.
dirty bars compared to the stock bars. my hands are out farther. they are flatter and a tad higher.
they say from research with other bikes long cables are needed. not with my bike. every cable was fine other than i routed the cables/wires on the inside of the forks. and the front brake line is already SSbraided. in the other thread the guy said his oem brake line was too short.
so buy some brackets and bars for under $50.

wel..heres the pics.
so i lowerd the front of my bike more

jk

for the life of me i couldnt get the forks back up even with all teh screws out. my back couldnt do it. so i jacked it up ghetto style

bars will hit ignition?... :/

so i went to drill out the security screws in the igntion and they started jus untreading

i made these brackets real small and simple. so the ignition can be canted out away from teh bars.

i took me forever to grind down teh mounts jus right without destroyign them
finaly got that done and bolted down the clamps. and slipped on controls

arnold peeking over my hideous headlight

oh and i finished my seat
