Experience w/ these pieces of Alpinestar gear?

I've been riding in jeans w/ knee/shin guards underneath, and it's probably about time to get some better coverage. So I head over to the shop to try some on and pick up some chain lube while I'm at it. Walking through the gear section is bad for my wallet, lol. Luckily I didn't buy anything, but I was wondering if anyone has had experience w/ these pieces of gear?

All I've been doing is commuting to and from work 1-2 times a week. I want to start some fun rides, but I doubt I'll push it very hard. I have a bright yellow helmet which is why the jacket catches my eye.

I tried these pants on and they felt great.

Maybe one of these with the bright yellow logos

Alpinestars T-GP Plus Air Jacket

or this one which comes w/ a liner

Alpinestars SMX-3 Air Gloves

However I'm thinking my current Oakley gloves provide more protection than these Alpinestars so I'm wondering what else I can get for around $50 such as these.

Thoughts from you guys?

and yes, i'm a brand whore.

The jacket is good but tight in the shoulders for it's size.

No experience with the other gear.

A*s gear are the best. Crashed twice in a pair of gpx leathers and they are still going strong. smx 5 plus boots rock too.
