MCRA round 4 2013

It's that time of the month for round 4. After not being on the 250 for 2 months im looking forward to spending the weekend riding and racing. After rebuilding and modifying it from my crash in july it seems to run like a raped ape! I went from an areaP to a Leo Vince pipe. Changing the sporkets to the 415 chain made a BIG difference.

Keepinging it on two wheels, not running out of gas, and 1st are the goals for the weekend!

Two second places. Not bad for the weekend! Justin walked off from us. We have a new player in the game, Andre. He's SMOKING FAST on his stock R6. To be honest, right now, there is no way I can run his pace on a "big" bike. He was fun to run against along with mike. A new player in the game makes our race series that much more exciting! Ill post vids when I get them onto you tube.

MCRA round 4: Yep

It was great racing with you, Rick. And great to have Andre in the mix, now, too. Not sure I'll be able to keep up with you guys going forward, but plan to try. Surveyed the damage more closely today, and the low side didn't seem to hurt anything but the slider and foot peg. I got off light!! Will be anxious to see where we are in points.

Meanwhile, anyone know where to get a replacement frame slider? I have no idea what brand is on my bike (bought it already prepped). They are nicely long, though, as in about 5.75 inches or 143 mm long. Worked great, and would like to replace the damaged one with the same type.

Thanks,
Mike

There will be another guy in our mix as soon as he gets the 250 set up. This 250 racing is soooo much fun.

You also have a PM. Send me your number when you read it.

Come join the fun chris. We had a 9 bike grid sat and an 8 bike grid Sunday. There was a 250 crash each day which took one out. Our 250 grid is going to grow next year.

I will be there. I had committed to do as many motoseries rounds as I could make with my friend Phil R6 #777 (he raced with you guys at Putnam). Due to his crash injuries, he is done racing. Sad too, it was his first year. We were sharing travel expenses and such.

Plan on me racing with you guys all next season. We can stick a banana in Justin's exhaust. lol

I know I'm late replying to this thread but I had a fricken' blast on the 250 at Gateway. I was doing the racing clinic on Saturday so was riding at about 70% to make sure I passed and got my license. Sunday was great though, especially since Justin was kind enough to loan me his rain tires for the morning so I can see what a blast riding in the wet is with proper tires. I watched my onboard video from the rain sessions and you can hear me giggling when I get knee down.

Halfway through Sunday I found out my transponder wasn't working, so no idea what lap times I was running. But my first session in the dry my best was 1:32ish and by the race I was doing 1:27ish. I'll definitely be back for October and I'm hoping to cut another 5 seconds off of my lap as I get more used to the track and my problem corners. My hope is I can be vaguely competitive by next year, but we'll see how that goes, haha. At the very least I should be able to be out there racing every weekend next season, so I'll be getting plenty of practice in.
