New from SC
Hi all, Bradley from SC here. Well, like a few post I've read, I figured i'd never buy a 250. Started out on a 600 Kat, then "upgraded" to 750 magna. Sold that and bought "my baby" 2008 Kawa Mean Streak SE. Well found an awesome deal on a '02 ex250. Bike runs great, cosmetically its a different story. And i really haven't decided which way to go w/ this bike......either naked or RE-dress it. Upper Fairings are busted (i think they can be fixed---but have no idea how). Lower fairing is cracked and melted. Rear part of the bike is perfect. The tank is a complete mess, previous owner decided to re-paint it..........w/ road marking paint (any idea how to get that crap off)? So, i've only had it for about 3 days at this point, and have begun stripping it down, have been considering sandblasting the frame and painting the bike the same color as me '08 SE. (permission red frame, w/ diablo metalic black for the fairings and tank). So, another question is, does anyone know how much paint it would take to do the frame? Thanks for the welcome and if anyone has some 88-07 fairings for sale, let me know/how much?

Hey Bradley! Have you considered a streetfighter? How do you like your mean streak? I've always like the special edition black with red flames. Usually not a fire guy, but thats my favorite. I had a 1500 Vulcan that I sold, kinda miss it.

I love the meanie, but the '07 is the SE w/ flames and flat black paint scheme. The '08 SE is diablo metalic black w/ red frame (only reason i know the name of the paint is because of the research i've done looking for paint codes) Over all its a great bike, bought it off a guy in a bind, and it only had 1700 miles on it when i got it about 2 months ago.......its sitting on a little over 4k now. As for as the streetfighter, i've considered it. And it would be a lot cheaper than buying fairnings i'm finding out. Right now, the bike is in somewhat of a streetfighter look........still has tail section and rear fairings on it. Front and lower are off of it. I need to buy a different set of turn signals so they can mount to the bike. Previous owner had flush mounts on the busted fairings......so picking up some turn signals later today, and also a oil change kit. So for my biggest ordeal is getting this "road marking" paint off the tank.

if you're gonna sandblast it and repaint it then that'll fix the tank. Look into what kinda headlights you want to get (IF) you go streetfighter on it. I dont believe I've ever seen the diablo metallic paint, I'm thinking of the flat black, yummmm. I am very jealous of your bikes.
