I'm sure I'm guilty as charged. Thanks for the explanation, Alex! :-)

I can't stand when people quote pictures and double the length of what is sometimes considered an already lengthly thread. My scrollbar gets so small and scrolls too much info. Seriously, isn't this annoying to everyone? That i quoted the picture?

Then there's the example of the demotivational thread, it's kind of hard to know what picture's being commented on if you don't show the picture for reference.

Quarterly bump. Seeing a good bit of this from some of the newer posters. We need to learn 'em.

I was very tempted to quote the above, but decided against it. I know I'm guilty as charged so this is good to know.

A lot of forums have a feature that automatically resizes embedded images to a a width specified by the user in their thread display options. The forum default would probably be 800 or so.

Uhh, he added reply/quote notifications that don't work if you don't quote the post you are replying to even if it is the one right above you, so it's obsolete and that's why this thread wasn't bumped. You wouldn't have gotten this notice if I didn't.
Edit: I see that it automatically hides quotes without content. I wonder if you still get the notification though. |
