What am I going to do this winter?!
So I realize its not quite even summer yet, but after a few more gear pick ups I will be hoarding cash to try and save up for this winters modifications. This bitch is probably going to get a serious facelift. How serious depends on how much my friends decide they want to help in the teardown... I need their motivation.. dont judge me.
So basically Im asking you for some examples of what I should do. I wanted to be original but Kevin2109 pretty much did exactly what I started on my 250 and never finished.. (I realized I wanted a bigger bike and stopped dumping money into it) The black and neon green scheme. Granted, its not super original. But his came out great. And while copying is the greatest form of flattery, thats just not how I roll... Im thinking if I go green to go even more. Like actually doing the frame green. I need to redo my swing arm anyways, but ill probably do that our matte black. Rims, and frame green, bike all black with green decals. Or perhaps another color? Neon orange or yellow maybe? anyways if you have some bikes that you liked or remembered post them up. Ive been looking but Im sure there are some I havent seen. Let me know what you guys think too. Id like to here opinions on these and other color schemes How she sits now

Why would you want to ruin your beautiful 636??
At least crash first so you have a reason to change it. |

@massacremasses Yeah I know. I guess this time I am just sad for that bike. I am a huge fan of those 05-06 636's so I hate to see them be violated. Most of em around here have been chromed out, stretched, lowered, etc.

I never understood these people:
"I want to be unique, so tell me what I should do". If there's something you want, do it. If you want to change it for the sake of changing it, don't. Too many badly defaced bikes out there because of people like you. |

I hate painted frames on sportbikes, whether it be chrome, or any other color than black / stock. It looks like a dog crapped on a roadkill turtle.....if you know what I mean. Do what you want, if i think it looks like a dog crapped roadkill turtle then who gives a rat's keester? Not you. The point of this post is being pointless, I hope you all realized that prior to this final sentence.

Dude painted frames is so 1999. You had a dirt bike, you know what I mean. Anyway. Go with a stealth/flat gray or black on all body work and tank. Green wheels and green frame. Then add green accents in small doses. Green clip ons, and do the forks in green... That would piss some people off. With the dark body work proceed to add green graffiti graphics.

My vote goes for white fairings, red rim tape, red Ninja and Kawasaki decals. Keep it simple, classy, and good looking without being too attention grabbing. When I see a new bike, I'm always more impressed by the tires/power commander/shiny suspension parts/SS brake lines/headlights/etc etc than the paint and vinyls.
That model of 636 looks freakin sweet with a dual bixenon retrofit. Just sayin I would take the winter to do THAT instead of any other cosmetic mods. Bixenons with flat black everything in the headlights, except plain chrome shrouds. Yummmm |

I have. And Im debating on it. Its kind of a pain in the ass to do and Im still not sure if I like it enough to attempt it. the white and orange on KTMs look so awesome though... I want to pick up a KTM 690 SMC so bad!! !! Right now Im leaning towards a completely blacked out bike with some bright ass neon yellow wheels. I like what @Kevin2109 did with the decals. So Im thinking of just putting stock decals back on in a reflective neon yellow as well. Ill probably paint the forks black as well. Rear sets, not sure. Black sprockets, yellow chain... could be dope.

Since you are on the wall about it, I guess you could cheaply mock it up in plastidip before you committed to it. Doesn't necessarily have to last forever if you are still on the fence about it.
I watched the demo vid for that SuperDuke and I spent a fair amount of time watching the wheels spin, mostly because I hadn't seen two tones in motion before. |

haha
I guess Ive never seen a two tone wheel spin either. Ive seen them do a two dont with like black in the center of the rim then the other color on the outside. Looked cool, but I still think Ill go flashy single color. I wonder what colors would look good together though. I cant to orange and white. Those are KTM colors. Orange and black is KTM too. I mean I could, but I dont think I want too. I wonder if white and yellow would look good.

Not sure I'd want white wheels though, sounds like a pain. But I'm sure if you had some other neon/yellow accents on the bike half black half neon would look pretty sweet.

White wheels are only a pain if you let them get ahead of you or let the dirt, dust and grime just sit there. A 5 min wipe down after ever other ride makes keeping them bright white a snap.
You get out of it what you put in....

AFAIK the biggest thing about the BMW finish is that it's textured, and you can't use regular wax/polishing methods. That's a nice looking black you sprayed though.

Yeah my wheels are like gray, but Id feel weird taking them off just to do a normal color like black. Taking them off an shooting them is a little job in itself. lol but Id deff use my low gloss on the rims.. idk how a micro flake would look. I need to see it for sure. If I replaced the white with black id dig it...

Shoot the wheels neon yellow, shoot the fairings that low gloss cardinal. Decide on further modifications after? You seem pretty set on those two aspects
