Slider Kit -- need instructions, help
This 2009 Ninja came with an uninstalled, no name, slider kit without INSTRUCTIONS. Not sure where all the fiddly bits go. Pix attached.
Anyone have instructions they could take pix of and send me? Or direct me where the bits go? TIA! |

This seems to be your kit. One of the pictures in that ebay ad shows a bit of how they fit together but I suggest asking the seller if they can provide the instructions that were not in your package At first glance though, the long bar fits across your engine somehow and the two L Shaped pieces attach to each side of that bar using the bit that sticks out as the bar attachment so that the flat part is aligned with the holes in your fairing. The fat part of the dumbbell looking parts then hook into the flat part of the L Shaped pieces and the pucks hook into the smaller part of the dumbbell looking parts and the bolts tie everything together. In all honesty I would avoid installing these as the way they seem to setup make them look like they will actually **** up your engine rather than protect the bike. I'd toss these and go for a much more stable Shogun frame slider http://www.revzilla.com/product/shog...250r-2008-2012 Bigger pain to setup but even if you do have a monumental fall (or some ****ing asshole tosses your bike to the ground when your alarm kicks in while they were trying to steal it. ) the part that will get messed up is the slider frame, not the engine. |

Thanks for the pointer. Funny. The ebay add explicitly states NO INSTRUCTIONS included. But they do seem a bit "light". The Shogun are definitely a higher class product. Ok, I will toss them. Didn't cost me anything explicitly. Just came with the bike from the previous owner.

Wait, don't toss them. If you aren't going to install them, I could use them as "highway pegs".
Course, depends on what you want for them.

Are "Highway Pegs" anything like when I might have sorta used my frame sliders as foot rests on a long drive from Toronto to Montreal? |

Yep, that's exactly the idea.
