If the OP is that worried, he can PM me, I was just offering a personal help, before he has his engine laying in pieces on the floor

Yeah, same boat. If someone locally needed some help in would be more than willing to come and help. There is one guy from 4 minutes north of here that posted once, then never replied. :/

I would start by confirming you have adequate battery voltage - 12.7 or better.
Just because it's a new battery doesn't mean it's fully charged, or may even have a bad cell. If you get full voltage (before cranking) check it when you hit the button. You should see 10.0V or better. If it's below that it's bad. |

I checked the volts to the battery and again on the starter I get 11.99 on a full charge. I'll hook a car battery right now to it and see what happens do I hook the car battery to my battery?

Got to love the multi problem problems. Most of the posts are about why the starter doesn't start the bike. Personally I would say clean all your contacts first. But I digresses,
I would start with the why it isn't starting when you push start it, then move on to messing with electrical, simply a question of where the bigger $$$is involved if the worst is true. Motors are not that hard, I mean sure they are but if you have spark, and gas, then something will happen. If you can't push start then it is gas or spark. Probably gas, do your carb again, don't feel bad, I usually do mine 3 or 4 times before I get it right, everything out, in 4 little cups. Take your time, it takes longer if you don't. Wile you have the tank off hook your bat to a car jumper and see if you get a good clean spark by grounding it off a bolt in your frame. Electric doesn't go through paint so bare metals. And yes, jumping with a car is not recommended and might fry your battery, but it is good to have a lot of juice on hand. And since your riped down, check your fuse's, and if your feeling crappy change out your fork oil so you can at least feel good about that. Starters, cheap. Chasing down gremlin's in electric, basically free. But infill the dam thing fires and runs you own a fancy boat anchor. |

Starter fluid in the chamber? Cause if you have spark, it is on the gas side. I have gotten a motor with no rings to turn with a big enough bang so even if yours are shot it will chug to life.

The OP put new plugs, but used Autolite #4194, I advised him to pick up the proper NGK's and to have the carburetors cleaned, or send them to @ducatiman for professional refurbishing.
Until he does the plugs, and carburetors no need to go any further IMHO.

Ooooo cheaped out on the plugs.
I guess I missed the point of this, I thought he wanted help with the diagnostic so he himself can fix it. I get it though, I am about to pay someone to hunt down the popping on my bike, would rather ride than sit there and scratch my head. |

The video helps.
Seems like it's cranking over too fast, like there's an issue with compression (as Racin' noted). Any chance the plugs are not seated fully? I would also replace them with the recommended NGKs. I would probably try a shot of Starter Fluid to see what it does, but there may be a few things going on. Most likely the carbs need to be gone through thoroughly, but that may not be the entire problem. |

It is going quick, I assumed it wasn't engaging, simple first, why I was suggesting testing with the bump/impact gun start.

Do the carburetors first!!! The compression test can wait, if needed at all.

Well then first step is to drop the motor strip of the exhaust and everything else that you can before and plop it on a table.
Good work from the top down valve covers to you have the whole head off and exposed you'll see all the damage |

Hopefully it will just be a broken CCT. It might be a busted cam chain, and that likely would mean you likely have other problems. If you know the cams are not moving I assume that means you took the valve cover off and turned the motor over. So, is the cam chain slacked, missing, or fine?

Well if the cam chain broke?? Well that's goodnight then, look for another engine. I didn't see that happening, not a common problem for the Ninjette under normal circumstances.
