New Member Intro
Hello All,
I'm new to the site and would like to introduce myself. I'm 58, have been riding since I was 12, and am the owner of an 08 250r, which I love. I also own an 05 ZX10R, and have owned a bunch of other bikes along the way. While I appreciate HP (my 10R weighs 403lbs wet and dynos at 168 rear wheel hp), I've always loved small bikes, which are the most fun to make go fast. My 250 is a fun little bike - I've also owned a street legal Aprilia RS125 but sold it after I found I liked my 250 better. Over the years I've done a number of things to the 250, mostly with an eye to losing weight and bettering the suspension, which was done front and back by Traxxion Dynamics in Atlanta (Penske shock, forks resprung with cartridge emulators etc). It's been ported and polished, 12:1 hi-comp pistons, rejetted, ignition advanced etc. I've also replaced the stock wheels with a set of Galespeed forged aluminum wheels (anybody wanna buy a set of the stock wheels with ceramic bearings?), and the drivetrain has been lightened with a 520 conversion and regeared with aluminum sprockets. All in all, a super fun little bike. [IMG][/IMG] |

Hi James. Another NC member, I see. Same age here, I don't have a ZX10R, but I do have a '72 H2, and like you, I find my 250 is just really fun.
What chain was on your 250 if you converted to 520? As far as I know, they all came with 520 chains/sprockets. I'm pretty new to 250s though, so I might not know very far. |

Hi folks, thanks for the welcome. Love my 250r. Ride a lot with younger guys who just don't get why anyone would want anything less than a liter bike. IMHO, they're missing out on a ton of fun you can have with a 35 hp ligtweight bike. Look forward to being here
