Farewell to the 250!
Well the time has come to sell my 96 250, after a year and a few months, and about 10k miles added, and lots of great memories.
The first time I rode it, I thought "holy cow, this thing has power for days!" and for the most part, it's done its job. I started riding to work going the speed limit, taking a back road, etc, but then I started taking the highway, and before I knew it, I was using the max speed every single commute, and wishing for more! The death knell was having 2 coworkers buy 600's, and then starting to ride with them with a local group that does ~90-100 on the roads in town, and ~130 on the highway. I couldn't keep up! So now my beautiful blue machine is up for sale and I've got a CBR600 f4i that also needs a little love and attention. The CBR forum is alive and well, but it doesn't have the same "wiki" and "crowd sourced" repair knowledge like this place. Well, it does for a few of the very common issues, but it's not the same. If I had the funds to keep both bikes, I might, I really did love my Ninja...I still think they make great starter bikes, great long distance commuters...great bikes all around. I just needed more speed. |

I know you didn't ask for advice, but I'd take the 90mph+ speeds to the track and live a good, long life, which your 130 mph friends won't be doing.

F4i's are a solid platform, overall great machine if well maintained, parts are abundant and roughly about triple the power of the ninja. If you can't find an answer you need on the Honda forums, feel free to post up here. Many of us have other bikes and great general knowledge.
Gratz on the bike, careful with the speed.

Grats on the new bike, hope it brings you a lot of joy!
On the flip side, holy crap man, find a new riding group. Doing 100 in town and 130 on highways is just stupid, there's no other way to describe it. |

Not to say that it's necessarily any safer because of this, but the group rides are on week nights, and on back roads that are less traveled...we might pass 10 cars in an hour ride. The highway? Well it's 6 lanes per side, and it's not uncommon for cars to be going 90-100, and we all know that statistically controlled access highways are the safest place to be...
I won't forget this forum entirely, I consider it a great resource for safety, and long distance riding! I've gotten some great, great, great advice and help from this place! |

Join the club.. life is too short for just one bike.
FL riding scene is somewhat different than other states with more elevation changes. F4i is a great platform for all sorts of riding, sensible power, very predictable handling.. I like it so much I have two of them. |

Congrats on the new bike, the F4i is a great all around 600. Really the last street focused 600 before they traveled ever more down the path to becoming race bikes for the street (and that has ultimately lead to the situation they are in now).
Like it has been mentioned before on the street speeds ..... don't be "that guy" and don't hang out with "those guys". "That Guy" is the rider who gives us all a bad rap by riding way to fast on public roads with no regard for the safety of themselves or others. Having good time out on the bike is ok for sure, hanging out with other riders is too, just .... don't be "that guy".
