Just finished the install, I took the very lazy draw-it-out-over-weeks approach. It looks awesome!
Tip for installing the water temp sensor in the radiator hose- 1. Unscrew the bolt that connects the upper radiator cap assembly to the frame so its free to move. 2. Loosen the two radiator hose clamps 3. Remove radiator cap (Not when engine is hot!) 4. Using a straw, siphon off fluid from the hose and into a nearby cup/bucket. Remove enough until the fluid level is a good bit below the upper edge of the hose. 5. Carefully disconnect the upper end of the hose (wiggling helps) and twist it sideways into your cup/bucket, letting it drain fully. 6. Now you are able to remove the hose entirely, cut in half, remove about a 1/2"-1" from the middle, and install the sensor. Use supplied clamps on each end. 7. Reinstall hose, reassemble everything. Attach wire to Koso gauge. I also reused the coolant by pouring it back in the radiator cap once the install was done. Pretty quick and painless. (This assumes you have the plug&play kit) |

Juan!!
I use the speedo adapter to keep the stock mechanical cable that came with the bike. I have my Koso set to 714 6P and the speedo is within rounding distance of my DeLorme GPS speed (i.e. GPS reads 49.6, speedo reads 50). I have Pirelli Rosso II 110/70 on the front and it's been consistant with my GPS for over 10k miles. The folks at @RaceTech Electric put together a good video with some settings displayed at the end that works for them.

Just installed this gauge on my Ninja and discovered an important tip. Put teflon tape on both the water and oil temperature sensors, they will leak otherwise.
