Bicycles with engines (the new trend)
Don't know about you but here in central IL bicycles turned into little 30mph fuel drinking rides are the new fad. I find them super annoying and loud in a bad way. However I admire a 16yr old kid who puts his summer savings into building one. Something I would've done at that age. It's the grown men who use them as their DUI rides that irritate me. They're somewhat fun to ride but I tell you, they're everywhere right now.

A guy down here has one. It is always amusing seeing him fly around on it.
I almost got a moped with pedals on it ages ago. That would be awesome to have. I still wouldn't mind one. OOOOOOHHhhhhhh..... PEDAL MOPED!

I almost bought two of them about 25 years ago, one for me and one for my wife, for traveling in a motor home and having transportation for short trips. But then I couldn't come up with any scenario in which the mopeds would be better than getting transportation and exercise on bicycles instead, so we went with bicycles.

:Hah, not really new. I think the first bicycle engine was in the late 30s early 40s.

There is an issue with this bicycle in Malaysia. Those who ride them should have a valid driving license or not and the decision is still not determined by the govt. Not really a trend, since teenagers here are more into fixie bikes than this one. The ones riding it are old aunties (yes, here in Malaysia we refer older women as aunties) doing groceries at markets.

Yes, we call older women as aunties and older men as uncles. This goes the same within nearby country, which is Singapore.

Some people do it for easy transportation but most of it is due to not needing a driver license. So you lose your license for DUI then you can still get around, anything that can't go over 25mph you do not need a license.

Here in VA you have to be 16 to drive a moped, no license required, you need to have a photo ID on you, but it is illegal to drive a moped if you have had your license suspended or revoked for DUI.

We put Briggs and Stratton's on our Stingrays back in the 60's when we were kids.

I'd say someone in the Bay Area with a Honda Step Thru is missing their engine. Very cool indeed! Or as our Harley friends would say "That's sick!" I hope that little thing is alive and well somewhere.

Well it's the new DUI bike in Illinois
Might not be a new idea but it's certainly picked up in popularity over the last few years.
