Introducing my finished streetfighter!
I've been working on this little by little over the last few weeks and it's finally finished (mostly--it'll never be truly finished )
I installed Emgo Shorty mufflers to replace the stock mufflers and they're pretty loud (who am I kidding--they're really loud, but they were a cheap option). I'm still mulling over whether I'll keep them or not. If anyone has any suggestions that are relatively cheap, let me know. Here's a sample of what the exhaust sounds like now. The mic is inside my helmet, so it's probably not the best sample, but gives you an idea of the sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LHoQgYI6p4 I kept the stock gauge cluster as a memento: |

Exhaust doesn't sound so bad either.

I'm TOTALLY diggin it. at first I thought, "Meh, could use a tail fairing," but the more I looked at it, the more it grew on me. The only thing I'd do is black the mirrors and gauge brackets. what headlight kit did you get?
Now you got me thinking about fightering my 300, but I don't know if I want to do that because the fairings help with wind deflection on road trips. How I wish the Z300 would come to the states. Even then, I think I'd remove the radiator fairings it comes with to make it look more naked like yours. |

Looks sooo cool man that's exactly what I'm doing to mine this spring except I'm going with a triangular headlight.

Thanks Matthew and Samantha. I tackled the obvious ugly stuff first, and am slowly trying to work on the details. I have a better front sprocket cover to replace the dinged and cracked one that's on it in the photo, for example, but I'm a big fan of riding and enjoying over waxing and polishing.

Wow, really good job on that, looks clean. I don't think I can accomplish that with my hacksaw, lol.

How difficult was it to get that digital spedo on there? Does your state give you problems with the odometer reading?

As for the odometer reading, you can change it. So I just changed it to what the odometer reading was on the stock gauge when I took it off. |

I really like it. I would throw some side fairings on only because I don't like being able to see some of the fluid reservoirs and all the stuff the side fairings cover up, but other than that, excellent. Side fairings are the cheapest plastics you can buy, get weird with it!

Can you link me the head light? I need one was it a 7"?
Would really just like to buy the one you have so I know it works. Did it come with everything you needed to mount it? Thanks! @Cra1g

I would just make sure that it comes with the right harness plug. Mine didn't come with any kind of plug, so I had to splice the wires to the bike's headlight wires. Not a huge deal, but also not ideal. |

Yeah, all the parts are easily obtained:
7" headlight bucket - http://www.ebay.com/itm/162545999024 headlight brackets - http://www.ebay.com/itm/321904753446 Cibie 7" ECE headlight - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008DQV88Q Narva H4 bulb - http://www.ebay.com/itm/172597327307 H4 headlight connector - http://www.ebay.com/itm/112382138878 I highly recommend dumping light that comes with bucket and installing Cibie 7" ECE headlight. It has wide even beam all the way across road for much better visibility than spot-beam DOT headlights. With sharp horizontal cut-off so you don't blind oncoming drivers. DOT Sylvania sealed-beam headlights ECE Cibie H4 headlights |

Thanks for the responses guys. I knew there was plenty of stuff on ebay I have a few things in my cart just wanted to make sure the 7" was the proper size because there are a ton of 5 and 6 as well. I was sure it was 7 but just wanted to confirm. Anyway, thanks! And thanks Jac for the tip on the bulbs I just tossed that in my basket as well. Says the headlight you posted isn't compatible with an 01 ninja 250. I'm sure they're wrong. Duh it's Honda that's why. I'll have to pass anyway because it doesn't have the plug. But gives me a great idea what to look for.
Oh, as far as the speedometer goes there are plenty to choose from even some really cool looking ones for about $20. However after talking to Ram Jet and doing some research it seems as though the Viper brand is the way to go for a few bucks more. @Cra1g you must've had experience with that brand previously. Also many other speedometers only go through 5 gears. Would this triangular one work its kinda cool. http://m.ebay.com/itm/ARIS-Style-Tri...ATCHING_ACTIVE
