Aftermarket Levers?
So I'm wanting to get some new clutch and brake levers that fit the pregen, but I'm not wanting shorty levers--just regular replacement levers of sorts and I want to get some red ones.
Any suggestions? I'll probably scour eBay for some since I don't want to pay a lot (like...$50 max). Any specifications/measurements I need to focus on, etc.? |

Every eBay shorty lever I've seen has also come in standard length. The details are exactly the same as ordering shorties (as far as if you need to swap perches, etc.), just choose the long ones instead.

Aftermarket levers
I bought some aftermarket levers on E-bay a while back. The listing stated the years/models that they fit. Didn't fit my bike according to them. Even went so far as to query them about fitment. The seller said no; would not fit my bike.
A little bit of research can go a long way. Computers are great for research. Took a look at the year models/part numbers they listed and compared them to my application. Amazing! They're the same! Now have adjustable levers on my bike. Even got to pick the colors! Contacted the seller with the information, they said they would "update" after talking with their staff. RESEARCH! Makes you smarter! |

I rencently puchased a set of levers from eBay, from overseas. In short, I will not again.
The set arrived within a few weeks, which was what I expected. Even though the were listed for my application, the brake lever mount was not the right one. After several back and forth e-mails, they wanted to charge me 25% of my purchase price to ship the correct peice. In the end they shipped it at no additional charge, which took another few weeks to arrive. Then I had to swap parts over, and install - again. Even though they fit properly, they are adjustable, and had lots of play. The worst part, a day later my MC was knocked over, and the lever snapped off. Buy local if you can for this part.

Alright, so I bought some cheap Chinese adjustable levers off of eBay and the clutch lever fits perfectly, but the brake lever doesn't. It's too thin (which some spacers might easily fix that) and the nub that sticks out that presses against the master cylinder is too short. Again, I could probably add a spacer to the stopper on the other end to compensate.
Not sure what to do. Do aftermarket adjustable levers truly exist for the pre-gen? |

Sounds like you got the wrong ones, I contact the seller and see if they have the proper ones, don't rig anything to do with the brakes

The same thing happened to me - the clutch lever fit perfectly; the brake lever - not so much.
I did have to contact the seller, and they sent the correct piece. They attempted to charge me shipping, which I refused. Then, I had to rebuild the lever with the correct mount, once it arrived. Way too much effort all the way around. Again, this is the last time that I purchase levers from overseas. Live and learn, right?

Must be a pregen issue... good to know because I will be going thought it soon.
And... fyi, for those of us who have newgen models. The2Wheels (overseas vender) on ebay have been selling ninjette member levers for years without much issues aside of some sun fading. Of which, is understandable for a set of levers that cost $30. And yes... I have a set myself. Yin and yang ya see...

It's just a shame because all of these Chinese sellers that list aftermarket levers for the pregen don't actually fit the pregen.. |

I know that this thread is a bit old, but I just swapped out my aftermarket adjustable levers and took note of the part numbers. Perhaps others will find this helpful.
The part is the black mounting piece to the factory set up on the handlebar. K25 - clutch F14 - front brake

I took some pictures, in case they might help identify what I am referring to.
