Torque link nut
Hi,
The manual says we need to loosen the torque link nut before adjusting the chain slack. Is it absolutely necessary? If so, what kind of tool do you use to reach it? It's very tight but the pipe's getting in the way so my socket wrench can't reach it. Do you remove the pipe every time you adjust your chain? Thanks, Tang |

Here's a test for your question: After you've loosened up the rear wheel axle nuts and after you've backed off the long bolts in the chain adjustment adjustment mechanism (on the rear of each side of the axle) can you move the rear wheel forward and backward? (Hint: If the rear brake torque link is still properly tightened you should find that only the left-hand side of the rear axle will move, and it will only a little bit.) If you find that you can move both sides without loosening the rear brake torque link then it wasn't properly tightened last time it was installed. |

There are no shortcuts!
There never seems to be enough time to do it right, but there's always time to do it again! |
