They're probably a good pad but if you really want to improve your lap times put the worst brake pad on that you can find!

Oh no you didn't!!!!! Youre going down old man!
Actually im not sure if Ill be racing your classes next yr. Depends on if they give me a white plate over the winter or change amateur points scoring. If im yellow plate and scoring system stays the same, ill run the amateur SV classes mostly and get 4x the pts. |

I put the ZZ's on the bike. They work well, they are not scary at all. They wont throw you over the handlebars or nothin. Turns out my EBCs had a ton of life left in them as well.

I run them as well, on all my track bikes have been for 3yrs now.
Good bite and sustain, nothing crazy really but imho much better than the EBC's.

Back in '16 when I ran them, RJL's weren't specified as SS, ZZ or XX but they were generally known as high initial bite and that's why I liked them. Popular with the SV crowd or anyone else running weak "classic style" brakes.
But now I see this image describing the versions of the RJL's. Interesting. I have to wonder if it would be worth trading off a little of the initial bite of the ZZ for the high friction coefficient of the XX.

Your thumb must be feeling good if you are working on the bike.
Come up to Brainerd in June, it is a really fun track and CRA also has some pretty good grids in the little bikes. |
