Just one more HID retrofit
Hello All!!
I just wanted to share my HID projector setup. It is based on the following thread but with just one projector/lens. https://www.ninjette.org/forums/show...t=hid+retrofit https://www.ninjette.org/forums/show...7&postcount=66 Still needs a LED strip in the upper section facing to the carbon fiber plate to make the reflecting Ninja vinyl glow. It is a Bi-Xenon lens so it should be enough to ride. I'm sharing this since it looks like everyone is using 2 projectors and I liked the asymmetric look. Regards |

Thanks!!!
Here it is fully assembled... will be installed soon. The LED strip is connected with the HID so whenever the light is on the logo will be "on" It will be using the same connector as the OEM low beam and I still need to adapt a connector for the high bean/HID solenoid. The light beam is a flat line and light output seems to be very good. we will see... |

@MauR, thank you SO MUCH for photos and instructions! Gonna make it much, much easier.
Larger-than-filament LED definitely causes less-sharp focusing as can be seen by fuzzy cut-off line. But at least projector separates light and dark sides much, much better than reflector lights. LED definitely looks weaker than HID, even with two of them! I’m going to research LED bulbs more, most of them fall short of even incandescent bulbs. There's rampant lying with vendors claims such as this 1200w 260 000 lumen bulb!!! Asking them what it actually puts out comes back with "about 1 000-1 500 lumens" . Which is less than incandescent bulb and many times less than HID! Perhaps I may make my own bulb from a Cree XHP70.2 LED or some such. Last futzed with by DannoXYZ; July 11th, 2020 at 08:50 PM. |

Wow, they are crystal clear and have enough intensity to look like a modern car.
That will most certainly improve the rider's visibility and visibility of the bike's presence. |
