Need help/suggestions
Good morning!
I hope that everyone is doing well! I have a 2008 that previous owner had cut rear frame off. I am trying to do a mock up so that I can fabricate a new one and get the bike back to original. Any suggestions or ideas on how to go about doing this would be much appreciated. I also have no clue how to calculate the exact position of the 2 cross brackets that the passenger seat snaps into. I will try to attach photos. Thanks in advance! 571C1107-40E7-4E84-B3FE-DD772809AAB0.jpg B9CF8075-641A-4910-BE4D-FF9ADF0DD0CB.jpg |

i would buy the tail section of the frame, along with the tail body work and use the two to see where your cut needs to be made, to line up the tail body bolt holes with the frame

Look for a totalled bike that rear-ended something and use the rear section. I would want to make measurements off of a non-damaged Ninja for reference. I'd also make "plugs" to put inside the tubes at the joints and bevel the joints before welding. You may need a pro to do the welding if you are not set-up to do it. Just another case where a decent bike was hacked-up for a Bobber or Cafe Racer I would expect. Apparently no bike is safe... |

Did you get new fender/splash-guard? It can be used to align everything.
Guy in Sac. with frame finally got back to me and said he’s got one. Gonna pick up frame this weekend. And fender if you need it. Last futzed with by DannoXYZ; February 8th, 2020 at 06:23 AM. |

Thanks
Thank you for the suggestions. Danno. Can you shoot me a text when you have an approximate time cost with shipping? I have the fender now... just need the piece of frame.
Thank you! |

Thank you
Hey guys
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m going to get the frame piece that Danno has In the meantime I was going to make a temp bracket. Can anyone tell me the length of the rear cross bracket as well as how many inches in it starts to go vertical and then how many inches of vert before it comes across and drops back down. If not. No biggie I can play around with it until I get it to fit properly. Have a great weekend everybody. |
