What system is this?
Just picked up an 09 250 and it came with a extra full exhaust system. It has no markings on it and is missing the clamp. Curious if anyone on the forum can tell what it is.

can you post photo showing 2-1 transition? Y or U shape will tell lots about manufacturer.
It appears to have sudden jumps in diameter instead of using cones. Welds have look like they were squeezed out of toothpaste tube. |

Here's a pic of top and bottom of where it goes 2-1.

U-shaped joint formed by bending tubing instead of using proper merge collector. That's Area-P exhaust.

That doesn’t sound very positive on Area-P...thought they were one of the best? I’ve had a couple Tyga full systems on my 250s which I really liked. Figured AP would be at least as nice.

Looked again real close at the can. There’s absolutely no witness mark from any kind of badge. That’s what made me think it was some kind of cheap knock-off.

Badges are simple stickers. Easily removed when hot and adhesive marks removed with alcohol. I have exact same system in box somewhere.

Check out my Exhausting Tale thread for comparisons. They're both quite good, about 90-95%. Only change I'm going to try is reverting back to pre-gen header interface to head so that pipe doesn't have to protrude into already-small port and narrow down even more. I'm not fan of spring & loop method of attaching muffler, looks too busy. So I would use split tube with bolt pulling it together like older bicycle seatpost clamp. let me dig through by boxes. Might have clamp for that muffer somewhere. I sold muffer while back, not sure if clamp went with it.

Sorry, no muffler-clamp. It went with muffler I sold.
In pinch, I've used big hose-clamps. |
