Seems more like a Halloween thing than an everyday riding suit. But if you got the money and love Batman, why not!

I don't know of many Halloween costumes that boast the same safety features of the top motorcycle leather suits that you can buy.

That is true, but I'm just not the person to actually wear a Batman replica suit on the road.

I want to get a replica of Kaneda's whole motorcycle getup from Akira. Like this...
...except with armor underneath. I wonder if these guys can help. I'd want to change the pill though and get rid of the text... a two-tone Nintendo logo or a Dr. Mario virus underneath would do the trick. The so-called "replicas" on eBay button instead of buckle and are just one color. They look TERRIBLE. |

Only if your next bike is RED, CZroe! You'd have to get it in Blue to match your current ride

Let me just say ...No.
I'm sorry but ...No. I have a hard enough time not getting my ass kicked in this city with out riding around in a Batman suit asking for it. Now if there is dork willing to come to SW DC and wear this and let me film them getting snuffed out ... just email.

Oh, and FWIW, I'm not an "anime lamer" like some might assume. I'm a huge Otomo fan and I always thought it looked bad-ass. Akria kinda predated the whole "lamer" thing anyway. You know what? Because it's the look I like more than the replica aspect, I wouldn't mind seeing it in three-tone blue. It would still be evocative of Akira and I could more easily ditch the controversial capsule (or spin it as a Dr. Mario reference... old-skool Nintendo is my first passion). OTOH, it would go a long way to reaching that "Captain Falcon" look I was contemplating with a Blue Falcon/F-Zero theme. Flipped up eighties collar? Check. Fold across chest flap? Check. Bulky, alt-color shoulder pad? Check (one-sided in his case). |

Nice suit! 998 bucks is a deal, considering most 1 peice leather racing suits sell for about $1,000! So this thing doesnt come with a helmet, no biggie!
IMO limited to 1,000 suits... hmmm Buy it, then once they quit making them, Ebay it for like $4,000-5,000! and make a nice profit! If it came with a Cape then that would be Over doing it, thou i like this suit. I would buy one if i had the paper, thou im not a batman fan! Wear it for halloween parties, or if you dare... on your bike and risky wiping out and ****ing it up, kissin 998 bucks goodbye! |

Dork-a-mundo? No it is just a Tron suit.
"The first motorcycle suit from UD Replicas that you can actually wear without looking like a dork. The set is made of body armor, form-molded leather, reflective accents, spandex and silicone." The Awesomer.com "Without looking like a dork." Really? http://www.udreplicas.com/ud-product...ynn-tron-suit/

That would be infinitely cooler if they used actual LED strips to light that suit up....instead of those 'reflective' strips. Pfftt...jerks

There is way too much sexy in this thread
It's surprisingly cheap, all things considered. My not limited edition one piece alone cost about as much as that entire ensemble, and that was on sale (Goddamn you italians and your expensive, stupid, sexy, supple leathers ). I actually do think it looks pretty cool though, but I'm a nerd so my taste is suspect I wonder how well it would actually hold up in a crash. |

Supposedly the Batman was tested and commented to provide very good protection as well. I was very close to buying it last year

On a serious note, I really wonder how much protection these suits would provide in a get-off. The Tron suit supposedly has CE rated armor, unlike the others, but all the suits have a ton of seams that can blow out. As a comparison, most high end racing suits will have as little seams as possible with large areas of uncompromised leather. It seems that spandex is used for the stretch panels vs. some sort of stretch Kevlar. I also have a feeling that the leather used is thin and not the typical 1.4 mm skin used in track suits.
I do like all the reflective stuff on the Tron suit. Street leathers need more of that.

That's actually not a bad suit. I'd wear it, provided "TRON" wasn't stamped all over it.
