^^^ Very cool looking big rig. I have never seen one with side view mirrors up front like that. Do they help you to see the little cagers and motorcyclists way down below you?

These new aerodynamic rigs are much better to see around you than the older models i use to drive but aren't perfect. I find my side mirrors next to the doors block a lot of my vision on the side especially when i'm at a stop sign and looking for oncoming traffic to my right or left.

This pic was taken in Owl's Head, Maine last weekend, still learning the ropes of this run it was only my 2nd time there. I'm finally gonna have the keys to my own truck next week so hopefully next run i will have time to relax and finally get a chance to visit the area, its such a beautiful place.

I am a correctional officer for the state of missouri, and I am also on a community emergency response team (C.E.R.T.). On call 24-7 but love the thrill of chasing down bad guys, kicking down doors, and finding missing persons.

I'm the practice manager for a veterinary hospital. I oversee the business planning/human resources/operations of the hospital, but I occasionally help out with customer service, patient treatments and surgical prep when we're short. I love what I do!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to update you guys. I'm returning to teaching after Thanksgiving. I took this school year off to first be with family during our tough times in August and September and then to explore options outside of teaching. Well, my last principal called me with a teaching position I couldn't refuse, though I wish I had more time to explore those other options. I'll be an EIP support teacher. What that means is, I'll have no homeroom class, but instead will go into classrooms for certain periods and either help the regular teacher teach or pull struggling kids from the room and work only with them. It will hopefully bring my work week down from 70+ hours a week when I had a homeroom to more like 50, so that should be fine. Burn out happened when I had to spend so many nights and weekends working on school stuff because they continued to cut out our planning time and resources. I made it 6 years in a regular classroom and got tired of living to work. I'm hoping this new position will be a bit easier to manage. I may be less active here after I start back to school. Just wanted to share.

Thanks for sharing Allison. Too many people now a days live to work when they should be working to live. Work should give us the resources to better enjoy our lives, family and our play time like riding and other hobbies. Anytime work takes away from any of those things then it is time to explore other options. But... as a friend once told me long ago: "The time to find a job is when you have a job". In other words you are less likely to just jump at the first thing that comes along instead of waiting for the perfect match. Having someone there to support you financially and emotionally during that time helps as well.
Congratulations on the new job.

I'm only 25 and had dozens of jobs, but none of them as interesting as some of the other members here. Just a few of my past jobs :
Warehouse worker - Duty Free
Limo Driver
Ground Crew - SkyDive Guam
Driving School instructor (HATE it)

Currently, I'm managing a Dive shop. Basically I do scuba tank refills, tank repairs, inventory on scuba equipment and spear guns and accessories and bill our commercial accounts. Oh, and change litter pans for the four cats that live in the shop lol.

I don't see why more people don't work for themselves. It really is that simple.

All I need to do is click a button (literally; my career can be automated), walk away from the computer and do whatever for the rest of the week. I've already written the programs I need to do my job for me.

That's a pretty broad brush there, General Picasso. It's the college-"taught" programmers who never learned their own style and aren't taught to think outside the box (can you even teach this?) that tend to get annoying. The main difference: they take what they're taught, we explore the OS to teach ourselves and therefore find out many more useful tricks.

Self-taught programmers are generally well-informed regarding computers and actually passionate about the hobby, rather than only in it for the money (though that is nice).

The insult to injury? They'd be more qualified than a real programmer because a piece of paper says they passed a crash-course in pasting code, learning sorting algorithms they'll never use and writing calculators.

Been an airline clerk for about 5 years.. started when I was still going to college. It was good because I was only working 6 hours/day on shifts, so I could go to classes. Now I'm an air/ocean export operations manager for the company that brought me to the US from my home Country (Italy). I just got the promotion by the way so I'm quite excited

I have an AS degree in Computer Aided Drafting. I currently work for Baptist Medical Center (one of our local Hospitals) as an Architectural AutoCAD Technician. We currently have all the staff needed to completely build or re-build any type of facility required/needed for all the medical fields. We are one of the larger hospital groups that has discovered the cost savings by having in-house staff to meet all of our new and remodel needs.

I am not in any of these videos. I just work on the ultra expensive machines you see in the background.

My fab isn't quite as fancy as the one above, but it isn't too bad. Still lots of machines to repair and robots to work on. Oh and the suits are not fun to wear, especially when you have a runny nose.

Amazing how I've done this for 10 years.

Lucky, I used to get covered in hydraulic oil all the time at my old job climbing inside injection presses. Now I get covered in grease, tin dust, and carbon.

Clean rooms, though you do wear goofy outfits.

Bunny suits! I used to work in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing/Research facility and had to wear those everytime we do any kind of formulations. If you think having a runny nose is bad, my coworker felt nauseated one day and vomited inside the mask. Imagine that! Vomit all over the inside of your mask, covering your mouth and nose and probably some up into your eyes. Yuck!

You should really be wearing blue nitrile gloves or at the very least, using a barrier cream! Don't be surprised when you start having all kinds of weird health problems 30 years from now with your hands being exposed to all kinds of chemicals all day. Seriously, use barrier cream.

Designer/Drafter. I get to draw and detail forms used in the prestressed/precast concrete industry including bridge beams. Here's one I did last fall:

and a hydraulically-actuated self-stressing inverted tee:

The latter was designed to withstand over 2 millions pounds of prestressing force.

Over the years I've drawn and detailed hundreds of different types of forms, and have enjoyed most every minute of it. I can't believe I get paid to do this.

Anything really. My usual paid stuff includes High school sports. Baseball, basketball, football etc. I also do senior portraits a lot, and I do weddings. Those are my main money makers. I also shoot motocross races, well I use to race so I would always bring the camera. I no longer race. Then I shoot for the love of it. Sunsets (Pretty gay huh? Its relaxing and puts my mind at peace). I love shooting animals, Birds, deer, etc. I do some timelaspe photography also. Which is taking a photo every second over a period of time, usually a few hours. Then make a movie out of it. Its pretty neat.

I've also done a few infant shoots, a couple local flooring places took me to some of their jobs they have done, finishing kitchens and bathrooms etc, where I went to million dollar homes to take pictures of their big ass homes. I've flown in a helicopter to get a few shots. I also hung half out of a speeding van to get a shot. It can be really fun sometimes. I just love shooting, doesn't matter what it is. Like last night I was actually shooting a High School Musical. Hello, Dolly. The play wasn't very good, but I enjoyed it. Trying to get a decent photo is a poorly lit auditorium is a tough task.

Now that I have my sexy ninja, I'm going to have to find a willing subject (aka. BABE ) to pose with it hahahha

I'm on a fixed income... My wifes! Haha. Worked in sales (zzz) but did spend some time traveling internationally which was nice. I resigned my position as my wife had a very nice opportunity so we moved to TN. My current hobbies include running The Gap just to check the conditions. Alas, I soon must come out of retirement. In East TN instead of saying "retired" you say "I'm retard".

Stock boy at grocery store. So I had to work roughly 500 hours to get my used ninja haha! But it was worth it. I'm in my second year of college studying criminal justice so hopfully in 2 more years things will change.

I graduated from OSU with my BS in electrical engineering this past Fall. I started grad school this year and am a teaching assistant in our program's capstone design course. I'm also a research assistant with my area of research being in pcb level EMC.

To sum it up I'm a poor college student.
