clutch question...
my friend is asking me about his pre gen ninja...his bike has 30000 miles now..and telling me that his rpm suddenly rise up while cruising...do you guys think its time to change the clutch or there is more something wrong with the bike...thanks..

it could be, but we're gonna a need a whole lot more info to give a definitive/accurate assessment of what's causing the rpm rise.

he also told me it never happen before...just these few days and till now..how long do you think clutch really will last...?

All depends on riding style, could just be the clutch springs are worn and/or the cable needs adjusting, make sure there is a small amount of play in the clutch handle

is the engine revving higher or is the tach reading higher? when he is just cruising it does it? what about when he gets on the gas? it sounds like his tach is having issues because if it was really his clutch it would more likely be slipping when he's applying more force to it... as in when he's accelerating. when the revs go up, does it make a bigger vroom vroom sound and does he feel the power slip off a little bit?

thanks guys for the help.we found out the problem..the cable needs some lubing..it doesnt go back all the way..for the mean time he puts some rubber on the clutch lever...lol..it work though..
