Clean and mean, love what you've done to it, any plans for flush mounted front signals?, maybe some bar end mirrors to give it an overall clean look.

Ive thought about the gsxr/modern ninja mirror swap.
Maybe flushmounts, though I don't mind the stick out ones with the clean lenses. Only problem being if it falls it 9/10 times cracks the fairings like my moms If I did these I could get rid of the signals, get the ninja block off plates and have the signal in the mirror. Good to know... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KAWAS...Q5fAccessories |

I am looking to get those mirrors with the signals built in though. Winter project My moms bike has the flat black exhaust and she said I could swap them but I just don't think it would look good. I would like to get aftermarket pipes or a 2 into 1 but they are so expensive its not even worth it It looks so much better in person than it does in pictures. Impossible to get a pic of what it looks like in person |

Nice bike, are those rear indicators built in to the tail piece a commonly found item ?

Thanks for the link, but it says for '94 up. Mine is an '89 and the sides of the tail are blank, no holes, just the indentations. Did they change the tailpiece on the later pre-gen?
Sorry for the questions, I'm still finding my way around these bikes, I'm not even sure if Kawasaki sold the later pre-gens in the UK, from what I've read, it seems they dropped it for several years before the new gen came out. So if there are detail differences in some components, it may not be an easy swap. |

In the states the tail on the pregens all have the blank spots for signals. Also at least on my bike it looks like the whole thing comes out as a unit. You could potentially get just the plastic housing of the tail piece from a different bike.
Look for something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-Ka...item415c8a6bc9. |

Hi, thanks for the link, but what are the side lenses, are they reflectors or light ?
Hang on a mo', I'll nip outside and photograph what the UK ones look like. Here you go, does the lens clip on to those slots? If so, I guess I could mount some new light units after drilling a hole in the centre, then use a standard lens. |

Honestly, it's hard to tell from the picture. Is there a slot on the top? Take out the center light and look how it mounts. there should be a slot on the top for it to fit into. The sides will need this same slot as well as a screw on the bottom corners (1 screw per side). Also keep in mind you'll probably have visibility issues with no reflective surface inside the lens.

Hmm, I think there must be detail differences between them, no extra screw holes other than the two that hold the lens on. And yes, you're right about a lack of brightness if I just put light holders on the plastic. I may just have to use small flush mounted lights on the side of the tail, but I think the bare black plastic pieces by the rear light looks 'untidy'.
SORRY FOR THE HIJACK ...... |
