A trip for the Dude, maybe? - Page 8

Hello again!
This weekend the weather was great so we went for a ride. Dude visited an old coastal town, Senj, which has a fort from the time of wars with the Ottoman empire in 16th century. Fort is called Nehaj, and it was home of Uskoks, warriors and raiders who are legendary for their skirmishes with Turks and Venetian navy, who were keen on conquering the Croatian coast for many centuries, but never managed to do so.
Later we took some photos at the symbol that marks 45th parallel, which is passing through Senj. And we took a photo of that ridiculous crooked sign

This weekend the weather was nice and we went for a ride to Pula. Had a great time, quite adventurous too, we rode on the wonderful road along the coast, then some fields, a gravel road (somebody simply forgot to notify the people that road is being repaired...), and finally through rain.
Dude checked out the most interesting sight in Pula, an ancient Roman arena.

I'm nominating this as one of the best ideas EVER! I would honored to be a part of this. Fortunately we have many travels planned this year. They are all motorcycle related though so Dude would have to pull his own weight while he's with us. Between trackdays and races he needs to help out with maintenance and repairs on several bikes. I'd LOVE to get some action shots of Dude in a race. If he's able to obtain his race license of course. If not a I'll get some sots of him riding and mingling at a trackday.

The dude has arrived! He was quite ready to come out of his travel box. With such a long trip he has been resting well, I have kept him far away from the black and white creature that haunts my house (my cat) but will introduce them soon, we will be headed to San Diego on monday and the dude is looking forward to it. Pics to come soon.

Sorry, Came home from the 5 day SD excursion only to take the dude to the sequoias. The dude had a blast and i still have a few places this weekend that i want to show him. On to the pics

This first set was as we were heading off to SD. At first the dude wanted to pilot the 250, Silly dude he has no license. Then he wanted to ride in the tank bag of the fazer but no helmet no ride. He settled for a nice spot in my backpack.

First was sea world. He was nothing but trouble there. He hooked up with the grunions, played in the mega-don replica. He calmed down when we took him to watch the fish though.

Zoo was next up, He was less trouble there as in he didn't jump into any animal exhibits. People loved to chat him up when they saw him he was a hit with people.

Next was the Sequoias, He really liked it there, he even saw a mom bear showing a baby bear how to get food out of a downed tree 30 feet in front of him. we went on a 4 mile hike to a waterfall.

Jeff, the pics of the seqoias are awesome. The variety of scenery is one of many things that makes California great! Beaches, deserts, mountains, snow, lakes, forests, etc.

The dude is still with me in LA. I plan on keeping him a couple of more weeks as there are a few places he wants to visit still.

Sounds good, I'll be seeing ken and crissy today so I'll drop the dude off with them, I'll check the thread for all the Cali people that want him and try and arrange the logistics see if we can hand him off person to person up the coast

Ok look at that picture guys, You see the size of that steak! Oh and that is not even all of it, the shrimp scampi (Best i have ever had crissy!) baked potatoes and saute`d onions and mushrooms are not even on the table yet. A meal that made me feel like a king that is for sure!

Had a great time dropping the dude off and chilling with you and ken that night. Thank you both for being so welcoming!

He arrived at RUSH, that's the first week of classes. I was so happy to get the help

I work the satellite bookstore, so first we went to Indio, packing

And after unpacking

we stayed here 2 days, and moved to Mecca for one day :eek

so we were finally done with all the unpacking and could hang with a new found friend (he is the College of the Desert roadrunner mascot, Shhhh no one has told him he looks a bit off)

next was the weekend and motorcycle races!!! YAY!!!

he was so pumped that Josh won the first race and than Blake wins the second! Great racing
