Another newbie question
So I can finally ride out on the streets okay. But when I finally reach my destination I'm never able to get my bike back on neutral. Always takes me awhile before I can find it. Any tips? Also how do you guys remember what gears you're on? Thanks:]

I shift all the way down to first and back up a half kick till the neutral light comes on. Are you saying you can't get the neutral light to go on?

:[ no that's not the problem. It's just like, I can't really explain it or put it in words but when I park and I shift all the way down it doesn't seem like I'm in 1st. It feels like I am because the shifter won't go down anymore but when I click it half way up for neutral, it's never neutral. Sighhhh I really don't know how to explain it lol

try rocking the bike back and forth as you try to shift when the engine isn't running. The bike doesn't like to shift sometimes when the engine doesn't turn a bit. could that be the problem?

I've had this problem a couple of times, I wasn't shifting down hard enough.
As for knowing what gear you are in counting always works until you can tell by the rpm. Good luck. |

When I ride I do remember what gear I'm on, but always press the shift pedal down just to make sure I'm in first. I've had several occasions where I thought I was in first and was actually in second.
Sometimes the ninja will also have false neutrals, so watch for that as well. They are sneaky little things.
