New Apartment

I am moving into a new apartment complex. I went and paid the deposit today and I noticed a blue ninja 250 parked in the parking lot!! I parked next to it. It was really dirty so I wrote "wash me" in the dirt. Needs a fender eliminator though......

Congatulations on the new aprtment. Do you have furniture or is it bare like my first apartment was?
I remember me and my room-mates would sit on been bags, sleep on the carpet, order pizza every other night and the only thing we had in the fridge was beer. Those were the good ol' days. lol
Next time you see the bike you need to write ninjette.org and sign it ninja sleeper.

I hate when people do that. why not just take some sand paper to the clear coat? of course my bike is always clean and my car is silver, but the wife's suv is black.

Just a heads up, dirt is abrasive enough to scratch clear coat. So yea it may be funny, but I know I'd be pissed if someone did that to a vehicle I own.

My first apartment I shared with a guy who played minor league baseball with the Indianapolis Indians. He/We really liked to party but it got to be to much. I had to slow down and he refused to. We eventually parted our ways on a not so friendly basis but I can chalk it up as one hell of an experience.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one fuming when I read that. Sleeper, you sound cool and all, but if you did that to my bike, I'd be flipping out hardcore.

Congrats on the new place though! I couldn't live without my straightener or blow dryer either!

It was more like DUST than dirt. I am pretty positive i didn't scratch his bike, guys, so CALM DOWN.

I don't understand why you all get so pissy about that. If it were a car, then ya that makes sense to get pissed, because the whole world would see it and it would probably be written in huge lettering. Can't write to big on the tank of a ninja.

This bike was parked in the open, exposed to the elements, covered in dirty-ness.

I just don't understand how writing something with my finger in dust is going to damage the surface more than driving it down a freeway at 70mph. Doesn't equate to me at all. I am positive there is more general wear and tear that occurs on a bikes surface.

It's not like I have construction hands covered in calluses. Sandpaper hands.

If someone did that to MY ninja, I would say "Sh**. I do need to wash this thing".

Not a legitimate reason to get all pissy. There are bigger things to be butt-hurt about.

If it was only a light dust or just pollen, then yeah, you probably didn't scratch the clearcoat but if it really was dirt and sediment on the tank then it doesn't really matter how smooth your skin is. The dirt is the sandpaper, not your skin. You're basically grinding the dirt into the clearcoat and that's what scratches it. I learned this the hard way when I wrote something on a friend's car when it was covered in dirt and grime. A week later I noticed he washed a his car but you could still see the faint lines of some of the letters. It really doesn't take much pressure at all to scratch the clearcoat.

The fact you originally stated "dirt" is what got everyone in a tizzy. Dirt is obviously a bit different than dust.

That's good to know. The reason it is so dirty is because I ran out of white t-shirts to wash the bike in. I only wash my bike in a white t-shirt... so yes, you too would have to do this. It's a superstition thing. I don't want to crash because you have a flanel fetish.

I am certain that the noob here is, in fact, you.

Or it could be that some of us don't like strangers touching our personal property. I've taught my kids that if it doesn't belong to you, keep your hands off unless you have permission. ESPECIALLY someones vehicle. I thought that was common sense. For your sake, I hope your new neighbor feels differently.

It's ok, the writing didn't do any harm. It's light dust. Besides, she will make it up to me later. (Ask me how I know)

Seriously though. People voice their opinions just like you do. No need to demean them just because they don't agree with yours.

Lol, sounds like your doing quite the opposite.

Wait who is being demeaning now?

My opinion is there's no reason to get your panties in a wad over another owner of a ninjette saying "Hi" in a non threatening, playful way.

Honestly, merely touching someones property isn't a big deal as long as they are being respectful of the property, and not trying to jack it or ruin it. That's MY differing opinion.

I reread my post a few times but seem to be unable to find where I directed those comments specifically at you.

I respect your opinion, the same way you should respect the opinion of others on here that don't like people fingering up their property. To some people, it IS a big deal. That doesn't make them "pissy", it just means they don't appreciate it. All I'm saying is, you may want to think twice before you do that again. Next time, you may not be as lucky to have found someone who doesn't care.

Lol "fingering up property"? Is that a thing?

Your blowing it out of proportion, lady.

That's MY differing opinion.
unless its mine TBH, not to call you out nor am i being pissy but if i were to walk out and see someone writing something on my bike even in just dust things would not end up well, that is for sure.

It is also very dangerous TBH, people are very very protective of there bikes, even more so then cars in my opinion. You never know how the other person will respond. Some areas of LA it would get you shot lol.

That's not very smart. Great way to scratch the paint / windshield or whatever and get off to a very bad start with your neighbor.

If that bike owner was truly protective of their bike the would take better care of it and wash it. Chill out guys, you act as if you personally violated. Before you ask how would I feel if it was my bike...first of all it would never happen to my bike because I keep it clean because I am protective of my bike and if it was dusty enough to write a message on I would laugh it off, find the rider That left the message and invite them for a ride and I would wash and wax it.
