Hey folks, hows it goin'?

I just bought a Ninja 250r (2007) and have been reading up on it and found this place.

You guys seem to know your stuff. : )

Anywho, new motorcycle owner from Austin, Texas, 23 years of age and extremely excited about getting this bike.

Any tips for a newb such as myself? : )

Hmmmm... tips. I'm sure you'll get plenty during your visits here, but let me just start with one:

Yep, I've already got the Jacket. Going to pick up a helmet and some of those pants later on, probably next week.

Please, don't become one of the Texas statistics of "death without helmet". Here is an article about motorcycle deaths in Texas.

You may have the right to not wear a helmet but please, as zeroth said, ATGATT.

Don't skimp on the helmet. Buy one that goes well over the government standards. Protect the brain box, and welcome!

First of all welcome.

If you have not taken a riders course allready, I highly recomend it.

About the helmet, I like living. So you bet I'll be wearing a pretty awesome helmet. and wearing it. All the time.

Also, I took the safety course (cost me 195 bucks. >: ( ) But it was seriously fun, I'm glad I took it.

Hey Corey. Welcome. If I were to give you one piece of advice other than get leathers and take an MSF course, I would say, wait at least 500 miles before riding with your friends. I tried keeping up and it hurt. Keith Code has good books.
