I walked in my front door, took my shoes off and the rain came down. My area didn't get any hail, but I did get some slush coming down.

As for tonight, I don't have anything planned. Maybe a trip down Ottawa South? Do Kemptville -> Burrits Rapds -> Ottawa? That trip takes about 1- 1/2 hours. Always a nice drive.

I can only do 7 as well.

We can certainly cut the trip short. Once we get down to Kemptville we can pull over and decide if we want to turn around and came back the way we came, or just continue as planned.

This is of course if no one has a better route in mind...

So there's a couple big rides that are on the table, and not a lot of time left to do them.

Calabogie - Currently planned for this weekend (Sept. 17), but Brandon/Lindsay are confirmed they can't make it, and TJ is "probable". So far that's just Owen, Alex, Emile (is that correct spelling?) and myself. We could move it to October 1 if everybody can make that.

Mt. Tremblant - Anybody want to plan this?

There is a really really good restaurant down Highway 7 that Lindsay, Brandon and I have all eaten at and it's worth the drive. It's about 3 hours from here, just a little north of Peterborough in theNorwood/Havelock area. They have a killer pulled pork sandwhich. Anybody up for that?

October could be a packed month : )

Ok, it looks like the 'bogie ride is happening tomorrow, Saturday 16. Meet at the Tim Hortons (Prince of Wales/Meadowlands) at 10:30, leave at 11:00.

We'll get lunch and gas up in Calabogie.

Gibby,

It was great having you along for the ride! You're welcome anytime. Hahaha, I laughed when you took off. I know you had been itching to do that the whole ride!

Great ride though. I think highway 16 would be the most spectacular road in Ontario...if it were paved.

So, I'm thinking Saturday, October 1 we do another ride, this time down highway 7 to this great place that has pulled pork sandwiches: Map link here It's about 3 1/2 hours, so I'm thinking an earlier start, say leave at 10 so we get there for lunch at 1:30.

If nobody has a mt. Tremblant route planned, we could do Calabogie again later in the month (say, October 8? I have to confirm this myself), so the others can make it. Slightly modified though, less gravel : ) I was thinking something like this. After point "F" we could take the back roads to Ottawa, or just hop on the 417 and get back home. But we could make that decision when we get to that point. (I'm really hoping point "E" is a real road. As I'm sure Alex, Emile and Richard can testify to, just because it's on google maps doesn't mean it's a proper road!)

Do those dates work for everybody?

Thanks Gibby, I get the feeling October could be a pretty packed month, so I'm sure there will be plenty more for you to come along with You're always welcome! (Actually, any and every bike is...except maybe Harley's. Don't think we really want them messing up our image : ) )

Brandon, Lindsay and TJ. When we do a group ride out west, rather than you guys driving all the way over and then doubling back, we can meet you someplace in your end. Come up with a good meeting spot in your end and send us the google maps location. It'll save you guys a ton of time.

Lindsay, for sure we can meet you and Brandon in Stittsville; give us a location and we'll meet you guys there. TJ, we can meet you there as well if it's easier. We can leave Stittsville at 11:00, get there at 2:00 for a pulled pork afternoon snack.

I can't do a ride this weekend, I have the work pager : ( But someone can plan a ride! And I can't make this Wednesday either. Friends birthday party. I will see you guys next week though!

Dress warm!

Seeing as it gets dark at around 6:30, I think we either need to change the time, change the day to a weekend, or cancel the Wednesday ride from here on in.

It's going to be tough to get a group out when it's already dark out and the weather is hit or miss.

By the way, I can't believe I missed the Calabogie ride last weekend! I was sure that it was Sunday, but when I went to check Sunday morning, everyone was already talking about how good a ride it was!

I'll be sure to make the next one, as I haven't seen you guys in a while.

Cheers,
Owen

I can agree with this. Here's what I'd propose. As we've maybe only got 4, maybe 5 weekends left, we can just have big group rides on Saturday. We've already got one planned for October 1 and we could totally do another run out to Calabogie the 8th (different route). Maybe one last ride the 15th?

We'll do another run for you, Brandon, Lindsay and TJ. How's the 8th sound?

What's the thinking for tonight?

Weather forcast doesn't show any rain for this evening, but as Owen suggested, with it getting dark by 7:00, is there any point?

I'd be cool with just meeting up this Saturday for some pulled pork! I'll post final details a little bit.

Brandon/Lindsay, we can meet you at a Tim Hortons out in your area. I'm not familiar at all with that area (other than Scotia Bank place), can you google map a spot for us and post it here?

So it's looking like it might be a little wet tomorrow and I'm not really wanting to go on a long trip with potential rain looming over my head. So we can check the weather again tonight around 10:00 and make a final decision then.

If it's a cancel, we'll plan for something next Saturday. If it's a go, here's what we'll do.

Meet at the usual place at 10:00 (Tim's on Prince of Wales), leave at 10:30 to meet Lindsay and Brandon at their location out in Stittsville (you guys want to give us a location we can meet you at?)

Leave their around 11:15/11:30 and about 3 hours to the restaurant. Get there around 3ish, 1 1/2 hours to eat then head back around 4:30, getting to Ottawa around 7:30 ish.

Dress warmly, it will get cold at night.

Now, one of the things we certainly can do, is if we all decide, we can cut the trip down to a shorter length, and just take a ride down to Perth/Smiths Falls. That might be better. But we'll make that decision once we all meet up (if the weather holds up).

Hey all!
It's supposed to be a chilly one tomorrow! My vote is that we go somewhere a little closer. There's a great pub in Perth that could be an option. I kind of have to be back home earlyish too.

Let me know what you guys want to do!

Cheers,
Lindsay

They're calling for rain all day Saturday and Perth looks like it's gonna be rainy.

Let's just cancel and roll the dice for next week, Saturday 8th.

SO THE TRIP TOMORROW IS CANCELED
