First round of small mods on my 2012

Started playing with it little by little a few days after I got it. I have already had every fairing off of it at some point. Trying to decide whether to keep playing with it or wait until I get another bike since the wife is already claiming this one. So far I have an ebay $19 tinted db windscreen (amazing quality, worth every penny), 5000k hids in lows and highs, and ebay fender eliminator (will probably end up with a more visible eliminator when I find one I want). I am still trying to decide on a custom exhaust and want to get some black or tinted flush mounts for the front.

You may want to change your license plate so it's more visible. One of the members just got pulled over for his and he had it mounted the same way you do. Just a suggestion, both other than that good job! Looks good!

I got the fender eliminator from a guy on ebay without knowing anything about how it would look. He said if I could get some pics of it installed for advertising he would reimburse me for it. Wasn't aware it would just mount the plate under the tail so I installed it to get him some pics. I'm looking into the targa kit with an integrated tail light such as the bike monkey. Not 100% sure on the setup though.

Well, Bikemonkeys on their site has a fender eliminator kit and integrated taillight bundle on their website. Click here to see it. Perhaps now maybe some L brackets could fix it? Anywho, nice bike. I love the color of the 2012 greens.

Yeah, I would be careful of that plate location (like I'm one to talk with my vertically mounted tag thats illegal in CA). I would say continue to mod the bike even though the wife is "claiming it"... just get her input into it so that she continues to like the idea of modding the bike That is the eventual plan for me, although then I went and got her pregenant... so her learning to ride is put on hold

I too like the candy lime paint for 2012... just wish it had some kind of decal or design to it... I know lots of people like the plain green bike... but I think that the designs really add to the bike (guess I'm partial...lol)

I kind of wish I had just waited for the 2012 models before buying my bike just because that candy paint job is soooo beautiful.

Every year their color choices make me sad. 2010 was the last year I like cause they had blue. 2011 I did kinda get into the white one...they 2012 they get rid of it wtf. I dont really want green. and I am weary with black for night riding. the red is not that bad so I think I will go with it

Have you seen the green in person? I think it grows on you. I wanted a different color until I saw the green and thought WOW, that's different?!?!

looks good, i did a side mount tag on mine, right off the back chain cover bolt. that might be another alternative for you. ive been running it a few mos now and never had a issue. actually 3 of my buddys with bikes have the same setup.

Unfortunately my inspection sticker is on my modified plate frame so I cant do the vertical mount. I am going to get this guy some pics and then swap it out for a normal eliminator.

The bracket mounts to the undertail and bends slightly to angle the plate to make it a little more visible. Im not sure if he wants pics of it out since he is trying to patent it but there isnt much to it.

do you just drill a couple of holes and bolt it to the undertail?
sorry for so many questions it looks so good and its cheap but i want to make sure i can change back without any problems.

Correct, had to drill 2 holes to bolt it up to the undertail and 1 tiny hole for the plate light. I used the factory metal bracket to space it out and angle it slightly more back.
