New Lights
Removed my stock tail light/turn signals/license plate light yesterday and installed a DMP Powergrid Integrated Taillight.
The Stock turn signals use their own wires for ground while the DMP signals use a common ground with the brake/tail lights. I had to cut the Stock Ground wire and Tail Light wire. The ground wire was cut so I had a place to tap into so I could provide a ground wire to the turn signal connectors so the circuit was complete. The Tail Light wire had to be cut so I could tap in with my LED Tag Bolts to light up my plate. I installed OEM style turn signal connectors so everything just plugs in. All of the wiring for the light can be removed and the stock tail light put back if I needed to. Had to cut this harness: If I wanted to put everything back to stock I can buy just that little piece for $28 from the dealer. Replaced the Flasher Relay with a Tridon EP34 as Tri recommended in another thread. Works perfectly with the integrated LED signals. The stock flasher would not flash after installing the tail light. Pictures: Before: After: Tail Light and Tag Lights on: Left Turn Signal on: License plate bracket with OEM Turn Signals and Tag Light installed next to the new Bracket which holds nothing but the plate: I'm waiting for a set of Smoked Flush mount front signals to arrive so I can install those as well. |

Do you think you'll receive any problems with law enforcement as your turning signals are so close together?

Doubt it. It's a big city and they have much bigger things to deal with than a motorcycle having an Integrated Tail Light. I can't tell you how many times I've seen cops just blatantly ignore equipment violations. Including driving at night with no lights. It's not uncommon to have people run red lights right in front of cops and the cops don't budge. I see bikes in town all the time with integrated taillights.

I also received my LED flushmounts in the mail today. I didn't have time to install them before going to work. I'll look at them tonight to see what needs to be done. It looks like the mounting studs to short so I might have to go to the store tomorrow to find a way to extend them. Though I may be able to use some double sided 3M automotive tape to stick them in place. That's what I used for the much heavier LED light bar under the tail gate of my truck. |

by adjustment i mean, the bracket underneath needs to be bent and tweaked and afterwards will fit nice and snug with no gap.. i know, i have one theres a thread somewhere on here about the rear cowl and fitment tweaks and all.

Tested the new LED turn signals for the front tonight and I can't use them. Turning on one side is triggering the other side.
Sent an e-mail to Tri about getting one of his Diode Kits. Hopefully I can get it this week still. |

Tail light looks good
But I know this has nothing to do with the tail light but what kind of rear tire and size are you running??? Thanks

I sent you an email earlier this morning Ryan. UPS and fedex both want $22.33 just for shipping 3-day. I can ship it USPS priority, which should make it there by friday for an extra $4. LMK and I can get it shipped out today before the 5pm cut off.

I noticed that the ride was much smoother on bumpy roads. No issues with cornering either. I can still lean just fine and didn't notice any loss in acceleration or ability to flick side to side. |

Also, if their worry is that it might fold over I wouldn't be too worried. I've put about 2k miles on mine so far and haven't had any problems. I'm even using a slightly bent rear rim. Back on Topic: I'm going to be doing the install tomorrow. I recieved the Diode kit from Tri on Thursday. Unfortunately it's starting to get cold and my garage is too cold to work in now. Luckily my dad is going to let me use his heated garage instead. Going to have to get a bit creative with the mounting of the signals though. I bought a set of smoked signals similar to the ones that Tri sells. The only difference is that mine have shorter mounting threads. I'm going to try to figure out a way to use some threaded rod and couplers to make them longer. Will post pictures of what I come up with. |

Finally got the front signals installed. Had to have a piece of threaded rod bored out so the wires could go up the middle.
OD: 3/8" ID: 11/64" Wall Thickness: ~3/32" Length: 2.5" Cut it in half and used 1.25" on each side. Picture: Mounted: |
