Step right up folks, be the first on your block to blow yourself up going 200mph on a screaming twin pulse jet engined motorcycle:
Now it can be all yours for the low low price of $25,000, brought to you by ebay motors. Last futzed with by sombo; November 11th, 2011 at 12:22 PM. Reason: oops, missed a word hehe |

Why would I want to blow myself on that thing (or anything else)? I'd rather not.

It's a Harley so it had to be a Twin pulsejet. If they could have figured out a way to get them into a "V" configuration you know they would have.

It's not really a HD, the creator just patterned it after a 1929 HD flat tracker. My other question would be just how the hell do you expect to actually slow down w/o needing an additional 10 miles or so with just that crappy rear brake? lol |

As for the Y2k bike that Jay Leno has, it's actually a turbine bike. In order to be a true jet bike the power has to come directly from the exhaust thrust of the engine. The Y2k bike uses a gasoline powered turbine to drive a chain to the rear wheel. It's similar in idea to how the M1 Abrams series of tanks uses a turbine motor to drive it's tracks. The bike in this thread however, is a true jet bike in that it uses pulse jets that are providing forward power via their exhaust thrust with no connection to the wheel. |

I was more worried about those bicycle wheels holding the bike at high speed than the lack of brakes.

Do you really want to use a front brake to stop that thing? Think about it...

I did think about it. With how low the major part of the weight of that thing is, yes you would be better off with some form of front brake. With the back you're almost guaranteed to lock it up which could very easily kick the back end out which would result in either a low-side or a high-side depending on if the tire gets traction again or not. With a front brake you'll most like just roast the brake pads, but I would put money on it being easier to stoppie a HD cruiser than this thing lol.
