Glad you liked it. It was fun to make. Next one will have a bit more of the beach and a bit less of the sugarcane fields.

Oh, I know. Did you see that car that got in my way at the 3 minute mark?

Seriously, though, how perfect is the ninjette for those roads? Small, curvy, no open highway. Darn it, now I want to go riding.

That was wonderful! Thanks for sharing Floyd! Completely enjoyed that. At the beginning, you said you were on ABC Highway and then ended back on ABC Highway... is that the same road? Could you have just gone straight and bypassed the twisties? Not saying I would... Just wondering.

Nice video! I learned stuff!

And your road is similar to part of the (levee) road I take to work... About 20 minutes of it... But my full commute is about an hour...

Yup, same road. I could have just taken it straight to bypass the twisties. Please see my signature quote for further explanation. (Also, every car in Barbados is on the ABC during the work commute. I actually have to lane split!)

Sounds great, Connie. I'm sure we could find something for you to ride, and I'd be happy to give you a tour. Worst case scenario, you could take my ninjette and I could take a BMW F650GS I have access to. PM me as it gets closer if you are still interested and we'll work it out.

That video was really great , I am sitting here watching it and it help me escape my job and crappy weather for a bit.

What's the cost of living there ? Is land reasonable?

Seems like an nice place to live
Slower pace it seems

Its a great place to live. The slower pace was wonderful for the first few months. As time passed, my impatient American side came out more and more frequently. Now, you can usually find me flailing like an epileptic at servers for hours at a time trying to get my bill.

Can't complain about the weather, though. Great riding 12 months a year if you don't mind the wind. Outdoor and ocean activities are amazing, particularly motorcycling, surfing and sailing. I've got a membership at a beach resort (very cheap) where you'll find me most weekends pretending I'm a tourist.

For longer stays, cultural opportunities and social options are limited. Very limited. You know everyone. You know everywhere to go and have been there. You've eaten at every restaurant multiple times. There are times when you feel like a bird in a gilded cage. Island fever is real.

And I say gilded, because it is expensive to live here, cheap beach resort membership aside. I'm talking toilet paper costs. Cost of cereal. Car tires. 100% import duties on almost everything, so start off by doubling the cost of goods in the U.S. Add to that a 17% value added tax, then consider costs of shipping and limited competition and you usually find goods at about 150% of U.S. costs. Land costs are on par with upscale beach communities in the U.S. i.e. outrageously expensive.

I make these complaints while staring out my window looking at beautiful blue skies and 80 degree weather in February, and I'm considering taking the long way home from work so I can get a good ride in. So, yeah, very much worthwhile on balance.

Great Video! An 8 minute vacation away from this grey Seattle area weather. Interesting information too. I knew nothing about life on Barbados before watching this. Thanks!
