MegaMillions Lottery

Anyone on here that is able to purchase the lottery not participating? The ridiculous jackpot has gotten my attention and a piece of my paycheck. Who out there is staring at that 540 million that is rising towards 600 and is not buying a ticket?

Honestly though, I wouldn't know what to do if I won.

I'd put 100% of it in a bank immediately and not touch it for weeks until I figure it all out. Get some good security and some lawyers.

Yeah, I'm gonna pick up a ticket or two tomorrow.

My mother threw in five bucks for the pool at work. IIRC, she said they ended up with something like 160 or so tickets between all participants. She doesn't know it yet, but if she wins, she is paying off my car and buying me a new R1.

Yah jiggles, pay attention to detail man. It's at over $540 million and rising. That's quite a bit higher than $50 million, just saying.

Unfortunately Florida is one of the few states still not in the MegaMillions. They only partake in the Powerball Jackpot lottery.

Think of the silly stuff you could do.

Buy the entire stock of new Ninjettes and do all the best mods. Give 'em back to the dealers.

"There. Fixed it for ya."

Now a $60M house would be ridiculous. Why would you want to be tied down to FLORIDA when you're that rich? If I was to "settle" in one spot, I would rather buy my own island. If the payout is 389, and after taxes you receive about 250 you just spent 1/4 of your winnings. Then the property tax on that 60M would be so high, you'd be broke in about 10 years or so.

Yeah, I agree.

I'm old enough to appreciate a relatively modest lifestyle. I don't want to live in a freakin' museum and be dependent on servants and service providers just to keep the place going.

The most valuable thing in the world to me isn't lifestyle or toys. It's financial security for me and my family. I don't ever want to worry about paying bills.

I'd set myself up with guaranteed, safe income for life, first thing.

Second I'd take care of family. Make them all adequately wealthy, and make VERY clear that this is a one-time gift. If they blow it, tough.

Toys, travel, houses, charity all comes after that.

Sounds just like my plans for lottery based winnings. I'd like a nice home with enough space for me, my sister w/daughters, and my parents so we could live together with enough space to breath and relax. Doesn't have to be extravagant and huge, just quality built with an ascetic appeal and nice neighborhood. Of course would have to make sure to invest in the right way that the interest is more than enough to live a relaxed lifestyle on. After that it would just be a matter of enjoying life instead of merely surviving it.

I'd be happy if I had enough money to pay off my car, buy another bike, and have school paid for. Well, I'll be happy regardless, as I've had a great life; but not worrying about finances for a while would certainly be a welcome change.

I need to go get a ticket today!!!

I am feeling lucky. Haha.

I don't even now what I would do with all that moola. Probably get a track bike and a track car and just have tons of fun doing that. I don't need a big house or anything. Just bunches of toys. I would get a boat as well. Yeah, I need to get one of those tickets. It only cost a dollar and the payout would be huge. No reason not to buy one right? Can't win if you don't even try.

I did an office pool and we were talking about how we would be happy if we had some money to split, even if it was just the 500. It would be more than we put in to begin with and that is what counts.

Yeah if you don't play you don't win. That was my reasoning for playing.

I wonder how many people are going to stay up past their normal bedtime on friday night just to see if they won. That is an interesting statistic I'd like to see hehe. Well...good luck to everyone that is playing and may we all be winners even if it isn't the jackpot.

Andrew, I wasn't referencing the lottery; I was simply saying I'd be happy with no large monetary expenditures every month.

If I won, I would blow the first $100 million buying everything I wanted except the things that only oil sheikhs can afford and fund my parents' retirement.

Then I'd put the money away in an investment account and retire at the ripe age of 19 on several million dollars a year.

Too bad the chances of winning are much lower than getting in a fatal accident on the way to purchase the ticket.

I won $3, had about two days' worth of fun daydreaming and put some money back into the economy.

Cheaper than a Friday night out and just about as rewarding.
