Just because you nearly became wheelchair bound (with a shrunken penis) on your last attempt to get protective pants is no excuse for not fixing this. What have you been doing with your last 2 months if not thinking "damn, that sucked, I'm going to effing ride in medieval armor from here on out." No gear whore status for you until you have a pair of good riding pants.
Yes, bonus points awarded for your retaining your scuffed helmet from your femur-destroying accident. Sadly, I arbitrarily wipe out that bonus and 10 additional points for holey jeans only because like you and want you to avoid road rash and the inevitable 20 page thread with pics and videos that would follow if you were to go down again and get leg rashes. Check out ADVRider's Flea Market. All sorts of great gear comes through there at good prices. What size are you? I've got a pair of Cortech armored cargo pants (too hot for me here in the tropics), worn once, I'll let you buy for pennies on the dollar. Worth it just to get your address so I can send you creepy, pro-gear, stalker notes if you don't wear the pants.

@gfloyd2002 actually I have a pair of pants I want to order but they require that you send in a pair of jeans to custom fit them and I can't find my favorite pair to send in

I'm feelin pretty good about my gear consumption, since my roomie has adopted one of my jackets, gloves and helmets. Do you think I should get bonus points for outfitting two riders? Without my gear I fear he would be a Squid

13.5 + price help
Quote:
new running total is 13.5 Also, my friend has a really good moto gp full leather jacket hes selling. It fits me good around torso, only problem is the sleeves are about inch or so to long. He sold is 93 ducati and is gettin rid of all his stuff. He had boots two, some nice racing ones but were to big. 1. what is the thing worth / how much is a good price for it(he wore it on the track he said and didnt ride much in it, it looks very good condition). 2. is it worth it to take it to a tailor and shorten the length? how much would that cost? If someone can get back to me ASAP please, he is puttin them on craigslist in the next few days

Neat game! I've been doing this too long. It's the 4 suits and Arai helmets that match, several jackets, Taichi gloves, and all the Sidi boots that send me way too high!
92 points...tied with gwilo.

I think gear score should be divided by the number of motorcycles you currently own

Boots - 10 (only counting serviceable boots...)
Pants - 7 Jackets - 9 Gloves - 15 (who knew? I had completely lost track of how many pairs I own...) Helmets - 10 Suits - 12 Bonus - 7 (and only 1 of those is a brand bonus for my Shoei lid) Total of 70. Yes, I'm a full-blown gear whore. And I just gave a helmet away with my race bike when I sold it, got rid of a textile jacket, and torched my right race boot when I left my feet off the pegs on a drag run (GP style exhaust...)

Introduction
Hello Guys !
I'm new here . my name is zacko nice to meet ya all :thumb up: actually i wanted to make a new thread for the introduction but i guess i won't need it since I'm not that good at riding and i might be considered as a squid here used all my money to buy the bike, no money left to buy gears so, my score is = 4 gloves = free from the gas station near my house helmet = 40 $ helmet |

^ you'll quickly learn. It's not about if you go down, it's when, and how prepared you are.
I started riding with all gear, because I started getting into downhill longboarding, and took a fall at about 35 mph wearing shorts, t-shirt, helmet and slide gloves. Thankfully my instincts kicked in and I only ended up with a small section of rash on my elbow from where I landed, I instinctively popped up onto my slide gloves and shoes and came to a stop about 40 feet later. Either way, that road rash hurt and took a solid month to go away. I learned my lesson then, the road doesn't care, it hurts everyone just the same. I'm at 24 points, and might be looking to tip that scale quickly with a mesh jacket with upgraded CE armor for summer (gasp!) Can't decide if I want that, or to start gearing up for the next snowboarding season. |

Welcome Zacko,
Go ahead, take the dive and create that intro thread. Trust me, your not the only one here without a complete set of gear and don't even worry about your riding ability. We all start somewhere. Do it! Don't be skeerd!

Ok guys i'm about to buy my first 1 piece suit...yay!!
The two I'm getting shipped up to try on are: REV'IT Tarmac and RS Taichi GP-X S207. Anyone have any experience with either of these? The Rev'it is more expensive but they said they'd throw in a discount for me, so price isn't an issue. Colors are what i like, white and black. It all comes down to quality! Which has better leather, stitching, etc.?? And of course fit, but I'll find that out myself! |
