Question about rear brake spring...

I recently broke my right side rear set bracket in a low speed drop. I was taking it apart and tried fitting the rear brake spring back into the hole of where it's supposed to be. The spring is too big for the hole. Did a part of my spring break off? Or is there another part that was supposed to connect the spring and the hole? Any suggestions? Thanks for the help in advance!

Yeah, for the sensor. I'm on my phone now but there are some pictures in a thread I created in the @$&_()):;; (sp? Lol) I crashed section. I think it was called low speed drop on highway or something

there are supposed to be two springs. the big one which pulls the lever back, then the one for the sensor which simply is there so you dont pull the sensor off by moving the lever. the sensor spring is much smaller. if you are daring or just dont use your rear brake you can just get rid of the sensor all together.

Thanks for the info. So it goes from big spring to little spring to rear brake sensor? The big spring is just the middle man I guess lol. I could find a strong metal wire or something and make my own small spring. Then adjust the sensor by tightening or loosening the screw and bolt. I like using my rear brake sometimes but I could see how a person can go without a rear brake for an extended period of time lol

the big spring connects to a small bar that comes out of the rear set. the small spring attaches from the part of the spring that protrudes from the back of the lever to the sensor.

Thanks Whiskey for the pic, I THOUGHT there was a second smaller spring. Apparently I'm missing that *sigh*
