Anyone had any issues running this kit and the KOSO gauges? Since this kit takes over the ignition timing will any KOSO wiring need to be changed for everything to function. Tach pick up for example.

No wiring on the bike is modified during installation of the Ecotrons kit. So, I don't see any reason why it would have any difficulties. I do not have KOSO gauges and don't believe any of the previous group buy does either.

Apparently you don't understand what Alex did. He was correct in all he did and I don't see any reason for him to delete any technical discussions in here.

alright, well so far as the turbo, i have it all figured out i have forged pistons and everything i need so im goot there, and so far as your question, i don't see any reason why the gauges would interfere with anything, because it doesnt change the bikes wiring, the harness plugs into a plug under the driver seat, and the alarm may or may not interfere, depending on how it wires up. i will ask matt and get back to you as soon as i can

Guys, the rules aren't arbitrary, and aren't random. Marketplace area is for people & companies selling things. The only type of posts that are generally permitted in sales threads are questions from people who are interested in purchasing what is being sold. There is no restriction on tech or non-tech questions, as long as they are related to a potential purchase.
If the discussion runs off a tangent to having nothing to do with the purchase/sale in the original post, it shouldn't be here, and should in fact be done in a separate thread in the tech section or elsewhere on this site.

You have 1 wire to run straight to the battery (for gauge settings memory I believe), 1 wire to run to the coolant temp sensor (KOSO provided but replaces the stock sensor), 1 wire to run to your choice of an oil temp reading location (secondary drain plug in my case), and 1 wire to run for the speed sensor (located on the front wheel) and then the gauge plugs straight into the stock harness behind the dash. It gets everything else it needs from there.

I'm actually running the BRT and it was my understanding that the BRT would be illuminated by the EFI ECU. Is this correct?

Ok, now that clears it up. My BRT replaced the stock CDI so the EFI ECU would replace my BRT.
BTW...I'm thinking there would be no change needed for alarm function.

"Where does the koso wire (pick up ) tap to stock harness ?
Ignition coil driver wire? Or stock pick up? Basically should not have any issue. Because the efi kit do the same ignition control as the stock cdi. Except programmable ignition angles." - matt of ecotrons

I'll be paying attention here and making my mind up. My bike actually runs really good and get's descent mileage. I'm weighing the cost/gains still.

The closed loop nature of fuel injection makes sure there is less fuel wasted. My original reason for installing the kit was the ability to ride off right after starting. Works like a charm. |

I think the fuel pressure regulator is at the pump. There is no return plumbing. The computer is not programmable. The ecotrons system has an external pump and filter Inline pressure regulator and return loop The computer is programmable for ignition and fuel delivery. Parts wise it seems the ecotrons kit is easier to repair with off the shelf parts from a cager parts store |
