@akima Justin is right. In winter, I'm a total whitey!!! that picture was taken right before thanksgiving. Towards the end of summer I'm all tan, but that's cuz I run all summer and I'm outside as much as I can. Maybe not vacation in cali tan like @massacremasses gets, but it's still pretty good for Ohio. I never burn. It's so nice. Ohio can be nice in June and July
and Justin, today has gotten to a whopping 30 degrees thank you!! snow expected tonight, and as you can see from my picture, it's simply beautiful outside so there! who needs cali anyways. (I'm crying on the inside. I'm moving from Ohio as soon as I graduate) |

because ... she makes a satisfying hum as her engine spins and pulses.
Alex S. made me realise that the Ninjette sounds nice. Before he said he likes the way it sounds, all I was thinking about was how much or little it sounded like a 600. If you consider it in its own right then it sounds really nice! Definitely not worthy of the lawnmower title people like to give it and a darn sight [sound!] better than 125's sound. I think the 600CC+ bikes often sound a bit nicer, but the Ninjette isn't just better than a 125 and worse than a 600... it's different. For some reason I was really in tune with my bike this evening. All my rev match for my shifts were near perfect. I was changing up and down the gears quite a lot to give myself the right power/economy ratio for each situation I was coming towards. <3 the sound of the engine decelerating, accelerating and stepping up to higher or lower revs. Mmmmmmm VROOOOMMM VRRRroomm (^-^) |

I'm going to be getting an Area P full system fitted in the summer. I think that will make more noise. People here say it's a deeper sound too... I like! Can't decide whether to get the noisy stubby or the longer quieter one though. |

get the longer one. Trust me. My two brothers slip-ons are too loud for my tastes, and it's kinda annoying. I love the tone they put out, but the decibel levels are just too much. Get the Quiet Core, and open up the intake.
Opening up the intake also gives the exhaust a more full sound without adding volume. Do the intake now. You're gonna have to get a Power Commander anyways for the exhaust right? Get more time with better sound or take baby steps and just de-snorkel for the moment and you'll see what I'm talking about |

I don't know what I'll have to do to the bike yet before installing the full system. Plenty of time to learn before summer.
I'm not sure what a snorkel is or if my bike has one. The Quiet Core is probably a good idea. It's louder than stock anyway. |

@akima you have one. It's a snorkel that's put onto the air box to restrict the noise. It also restricts flow.
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10090 *edit* someone did remove their snorkel with an FI bike, and posted good results, so don't be worried about kkim's warning to at least shim in the first post of that thread I linked you to. You can't shim. You don't have carbs */edit* You're going to have to get a Power Commander and load someone's fuel map for a full exhaust system. The FI system isn't able to compensate for that big of a flow change. I can't find a link to a PC for you, cuz they're not sold in the US, and I'm too lazy to search hardcore, or else I would get a link up for you to a powercommander for Ninja 250R |

Sounds like a fun job being the person who creates this power commander software. You get to open up all these bikes and figure out how they and their chips work. |

Basically the power commander is to FI bikes what a jet kit is to carb'd bikes, only, it has more adjustments for a fuel curve that is more perfect than carbs provide.
Here's the page on dynojet's site for the Euro-spec 250R like yours. The Power Commander is an ECU that works at the same time as the normal ECU (piggy back) that allows you to change the fuel delivery so that you can get the mixture right with intake/exhaust mods. The new one (PC V) also allows you to change the ignition timing I think. Basically, you plug it into your computer, and download a fuel map for the setup that you have, or modify the current map to make it what you want. It's the same idea as re-jetting for us carb'd people, only you can change pretty much every aspect of your fuel delivery based on throttle input, RPM, gear, speed, etc. There's a few maps for your bike that will likely work with an Area P full system. If you want to put the bike on a Dyno, that would be good. If not, have a little fun with changing values a little at a time, and if you totally mess it up, just download the maps again Just like jetting. |

it won't be a crash fest like CVMA's Amateur Supersport Middleweight Class (at least I hope not), it will be cheaper overall especially with gas and tire useage, maintenance, and replacement parts, and its equally fun as a 600...if not more fun especially in trackdays where you pass bigger bikes entering, in, and exiting out of corners. What I will miss are the speeds on straightaways and entering some corners at almost 100 mph.

Someone ran her over with their pickup truck. Picked up a 2008 SV650N with the proceeds from his insurance company.
... I also miss how I can sometimes squeeze 60-65 MPG from her, lol.
