No more Ninja, Hello....

2012 Honda CBR 250r. Sold the 2007 Ninja 250 as I wanted a new body style motorcycle and I am no where ready to upgrade pass a 250cc bike.

Walked into my local dealership really wanting a new 2012 Ninja 250 but didn't want that lime green one they had left, as I prefer black. So I settled on the Honda. I can truly say if I could replay yesterday I would have probably gone with the Ninja and not focused too much on the color. I will force myself to grow to love the Honda, but I haven't fallen in love just yet. Not liking the horrid vibration I feel as it was quite bothersome. Other than that it rides pretty decent. Shifting gears is much smoother than with the Ninja (well my 2007) but the braking on the Ninja was much better. Overall I am just happy to be back riding and hope to learn more about the cbr 250. I can see myself returning to Kawasaki as I will add another Ninja 250 to my garage in the future.

Appearance wise I give it to the cbr vs my pre gen, but in my opinion the Ninja just out performs and rides better than the Honda. Gonna make the best of the cbr as at the end of the day...its still a motorcycle

Yikes, sounds like you were a bit impatient. I'm sure they could've gotten you a black Ninja in. Hope you atleast got a decent price. Have fun on the other 250..

I was quite a bit impatient. But as each day passes I am beginning to enjoy the Honda. Its slowly starting to grow on me. I am truly loving not having to add choke to warm my bike. I got a decent deal on the bike as the dealer setup fee was only couple hundred bucks, they also added a Yoshi exhaust pipe and for the next 6months I get 10% off accessories. Plus they were kind enough to drop the bike off at my house for free, as I was in my car when I purchased it. I've enjoyed it thus far.

As far as cibbers go, that looks like quite a nice one. Got any front and rear pictures of it?

Are you think of getting the next-gen 2013 ninjette?

A few pics I have in my phone...not the greatest but these are all I have taken thus far. I am considering it BUT it all depends on the price of the 2013. If its priced reasonable I may add it to my garage as I am not looking to upgrade past a 250 for another 3 years, or I may look to score a new gen from previous years, which I think are just as great.

CBR looks 100x better than any ninja. Even at the supersport level imo. And let's face it, if you're riding a 250 as a casual ride to save on gas, you don't worry about the 'performance' side of things, you worry about the 'user friendly' side of things. And the CBR delivers with FI, comfort, and overall attractiveness. Maybe abs too? cant remember.

I completely agree. And yes Honda does offer abs on the 250. I get out of the bike exactly what I was expecting...nothing more, nothing less.

Maybe, but if it's not fuel injected then it's no different from the other new gen ninjas in my opinion.

I see what you types... but it reads more like "I'm telling myself it doesn't matter if it does all the things the ninjette does so well, and consoling myself by highlighting the good economy I get while enjoying riding it in a sporting manner less than my pre-gen, but at least the ABS you should never be engaging on it is there as a factory farkle..."

Does yours even have the optional ABS? Did you finance the bike? The only reason I see buying it is as a pure city bike...

Honestly...I bought the bike to enjoy locally and commute my 15-20 minute in town traveling to work, around town and to neighboring cities. No need for speed (at least for me) over 90mph as I can only drive a max 45 in town. I don't have to use the interstate at all at this point.

There were no abs models at my dealership and even if there were, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. Yes I financed but what I will pay extra towards principal I'll be finished paying in full in less than 6 months .

At least it's got the right exhaust! Other than that I've never been a fan of the lil CBR... the bigger bikes are alright... but never like the styling of this one. As long as you like it though... thats really all that matters

ugh, generalizations. There's many types of riders, not just performance riders or commuter riders.

efi isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's hard to tune. A choke lever isn't that hard to use.

Your avatar says you own a pregen anyways?
