Thanks!

I got them for a few reasons. One reason was just that I love traditional work, especially Sailor Jerry, which is where the design came from. I also said when I knew for sure that I was moving, I'd commemorate it in ink. And since I'm moving somewhere coastal, I might as well get a sailor tattoo.

Sailors would get it for good luck since animals were shipped in wooden crates that would actually float if the boat were to sink, so they had a better chance of surviving. Some people also believe that the rooster and pig were chosen to protect from drowning over ocean-dwelling creatures because they'd be the more likely to want to get the eff to shore. lol

Not sure if anyone would care to know, but there you have it.

I have 2 of them, I can only find 1 pic.

I had my first one in Georgia and the guy that owned the shop did my first -- he was sooo good considering it was my first time and I was real nervous about it. He was telling me everything he was doing and really took his time with me, which was nice, no surprises. I was very pleased with his work. I had the shape of Texas (native) since we were moving to Virginia (my husband was in the Navy. I need to get a new pic of that one, since the one I have shows part of my boob.

Second was just as good, I had it done in Virginia, the guy "free handed" my husbands name. I know it is supposed to be bad luck to have that done, but we have been together for almost 11 years.

Thanks! Told my parents the story, and I just found out like 2 weeks ago that they didn't believe that was the real reason. But I fixed that issue. Lol.

On another note, I got a new one about 2 weeks ago. First session was 5 hours, not including the hour of prep for drawing on some extra like the wings and what not. I go back to finish this coming wednesday since it'll finally stop peeling by then. The wings go on my chest and back. Will post when fully done. Heres what it looks like now though.

Not the greatest quality, my phone sucks. hate sidekicks.

I have two, one on the back of each shoulder. Left one is LXXXI and right is LXXXV. They are roman number for 81 and 85. Those were the years my sisters were born. They are on each shoulder cause they're always watching my back.

Finished my angel a couple weeks back. Just represents a guardian angel. I some how manage to espace from thing that could've ended 20 times worse if one little thing would've happened differently. Always felt like something was watching over me. Tattoos are addictive.

@Daks - That's AWESOME! Best cephalopod tattoo I've ever seen!

I have 5... or more depending on how you count. I have also recently lost a BUUNNNCCCHH of computer files, so these are all that I can find right now (thanks facebook):

Here's the biggest in it's outlined state. It's since been shaded in black and grey, and I've added a little bit of colored leaved to my right shoulder and another train of page-leaves-into-coloured-leaves down my left side. (and you can see half of my first tat on the nape of my heck)

And not the best photo of my finger (it's a bee with a Standard A lightbulb screwed into it's butt on my left middle finger), but you can kinda see it here:

Spine didn't really hurt that much. Low back on the side was a bitch, though.
This is from before the shading happened, a few friends had some fun with face paint:

My spine hurt really ****in' bad too.

Neat thread! I have a USMC with bar code on the top of my back below my neck and then I have FAMILY in kanji on the ribs on my right side...

I still want to add a "Hecho en Mexico" stamp on my calf and a pin-up style drawing of my wife in my dress blues on my forearm...I'll post pics later if anyone wants to see

Wow! Yall have some SICK tatts! Mine aren't anything special.
First is on my right shoulder, second is on my right forearm. They are going to eventually be part of one big sleeve dedicated to racing, life, family, etc. I'm open to ideas if you guys have any suggestions.

Look at the curve on the "L" in luck. Looks like a penis. Lol.

I'm actually glad you pointed it out! It's hilarious! I'm showing my buddy at work and he hasn't stopped laughing lol. This is a guy with a band-aid tatt, barrel of monkeys tatt, kool-aid man tatt, and a tatt that says "new tattoo" and he thinks my tattoo is funnier than his lol. Can't wait to show my parents!

Kind of off track, any of you have facial piercings? Like eye brow or what not? Know of any jobs (besides Mcdonalds or anything of the such) that allows that? I was thinking maybe apple, because I'm pretty sure I've seen people with that in there, but not sure. Just about to start looking for a job, just dont want to down grade way too much Lol. Until I can start leaving it out for a while.

Usually tats and piercings go hand and hand, thought I'd ask. It's amazing how things of this nature can lower peoples views of you in some instances. Sad even.

Lol. I feel like the longer you sit in the chair, the more pride you can put in a tattoo. I love telling people the total sit time was 11 hours for my angel. Lol

I'm sure any type of warehouse work, shipping, or like night stocking job would allow piercings. All warehouse type jobs I had allowed me to wear my piercings.

A lot of hair salons like crazy haircuts & colors, along with tattoos, at least in Southern California. Also working as a bartender or bouncer in the right kind of venue will encourage or at least be indifferent to it.

Until I can start leaving it out for a while.

Usually tats and piercings go hand and hand, thought I'd ask. It's amazing how things of this nature can lower peoples views of you in some instances. Sad even.
I work for the government, and I have half inch gauges, and they don't mind.

Yeah. I've thought about hair places, but a lot of them wouldnt hire unless you can actually cut right? Lol.

My current job is a bank teller. Trying to look for something around the 10 to $11 hour mark. I know warehouses will. I need to stop into a local apple store and ask. *Sigh* lol Thanks for the replies.

I remember working security my instructor told us of a guy he trained that has mow hawk, peircings tattoos all on his face, and he was working closely with the FBI or CIA. It was pretty cool to hear. lol

Oddly enough, Best Buy has been pretty forgiving about piercings, at least out here. We've got everything from lip to arm piercings and I'm pretty sure the majority of my store has tattoos, much of them very visible.

I don't know if it goes with the area, though. My store in NJ was much less forgiving. I have a single cartilage piercing and double lobes. I had to take out the cartilage one there.

But they don't pay much unless you're geek squad. :/
